Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the New York Summer Junior Open this past weekend, August 9-10, at Beekman Golf Club. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of 6 divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15, Division, Boys 12-13 Division, Boys 10-11 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls U13 Division.

Jaime Escudero from Valle De Bravo, Mexico and Pinlun, Yu from Rancho Santa Fe, CA finished tied for first place. Escudero carded rounds of 73 and 72, while Yu carded rounds of 70 and 75, both finishing the weekend with a total of 145. After a playoff, Pinlun Yu emerged as the champion. CJ Previdi from Newtown, CT finished in third place with scores of 68 and 80 for a weekend total of 148.
