From August 6-7, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Myrtle Beach Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Matthew Costello, from Taunton, Massachusetts was the first-place finisher this weekend. Costello brought in scores of 80 and 72 for a combined total of 152 for the weekend. Jonathan Cowell, from Murrels Inlet, South Carolina, Robert Higbe, from Andrews, South Carolina, and Ty O’Brien, from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina tied for the runner up this weekend with scores of 78 and 75, 78 and 75, and 78 and 75, respectively, for a combined total of 153 each.
