REUNION – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted their biggest event of the summer this past weekend, the Mid Season Invitatoinal at Reunion Presented by Bag Boy at the Reunion Resort from July 14-16. Boys and girls traveled from all over the globe to participate in the 54-hole tournament. The event had six divisions; Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U13, Girls 14-18 and Girls U13.
boys 16-18
Zane Aiken from Parker, CO led the boys 16-18 division. Aiken brought in an outstanding scorecard for the weekend. With 12 birdies on the weekend, he put up scores of 71, 72 and 71. Zane finished the weekend with a total of 214 strokes to take home the champion title. With 13 birdies on the weekend and a final score of 215, Maximus Haines from Odessa, FL took home the runner up honors. This was Haines second Top 3 finish of the year, he is currenty within the Top 20 players of HJGT point rankings. Noah Hu from New York, NY shot an even 216 in his first tournament of the year and finished in the top three honors.

boys 14-15
In the boys 14-15 division, Jordan Paulshock from Wesley Chapel, FL was the first place finisher. With 15 birdies, Jordan finished the weekend with a round 1 score of 72, a 73 in round 2 and 69 in round 3, ending with a combined score of 214 to secure his first win of the year. Paule Haire from Jonesborough, TN places as the runner up honors on the weekend. His scores of 74 in round 1 and 2 and 70 in round 3 gave him a final score of 218. This follows an outstanding first place finish at the Major Championship at The Medalist at Avalon. Finishing the top three honors in a tie was Kaden Puranik from Chesterton, IN and Andrew Tsar from Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Both players brought in an impressive score of 223 strokes.

boys 11-13
Jose Carlos Lopez Lay from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico finished in first place in the boys 11-13 division. This was Lopez Lay’s fourth win of the year. With 11 birdies on the weekend, he brought in scores of 77, 70 and 77. Jose Carlos was able to secure the win with a total of 224 strokes. He is currently ranked fourth in the HJGT point rankings. The runner up honors went to Sebastian Arce from Trujillo, Peru. He brought in a great scorecard for his first tournament of the year. He put up scores of 78, 72 and 75 totaling 225 strokes. Huntley Couch and Nico Vasto tied for the top three honors. Couch, from Duluth, GA had scores of 74 in round 1 and 77 in rounds 2 and 3, while Vasto, from Jacksonville, FL had scores of 80 in round 1, 70 in round 2 and 78 in round 3. Both players ended the weekend with a final score of 228.

boys 10 & under
Newcomer to the HJGT, Pakpakin Chetphongphan from Nonthaburi, Thailand finished first in the boys under 10 division. He put up scores of 78, 80 and 74 along with five birdies. Pakpakin finished the weekend with a scorecard of 232 strokes. With a final score of 299, Zayle Torres from Sanford, FL took home the runner up honors. This was Torres second tournament of the year, he previously placed first at the South Florida Kickoff at Woodmont.

girls 14-18
Pimpakorn Panyadilok from Ladpraw, Bangkok, Thailand was the first place finisher for the girls 14-18 division this past weekend. This was Pimpakorn’s first HJGT tournament of the year. She was able to secure her win this past weekend with scores of 70, 76 and 69 totaling 215 strokes. Samantha Colombine from Villahermosa, Mexico took home the runner up honors on the weekend. With six birdies, Colombine put up scores of 74, 76 and 75 for a combined score of 225 strokes. With a final score of 229, Noha Ghadi finishes up the top three honors. Ghadi, from Rabat, Morocco has been playing with the HJGT since 2022 with over 15 Top 2 finishes under her belt

girls 13 & under
To finish off a great weekend, Catherine Lily Chen from Windermere, FL was crowned champion of the girls under 13 division. This was Chen’s second event of the year and her first win. She put up scores of 79 in rounds 1 and 3, and an 80 in round 2. Chen ended the weekend with a combined score of 238 strokes. Chloe Audrey Chen from Windermere, FL placed as the runner up honors for the weekend. With a total of four birdies, she put up scores of 92, 86 and 78 totaling 256 strokes for the weekend. Finishing up top three honors, Kingston Burke from Frisco, TX brought in a total of 285 strokes for the weekend.
