Naples, FL – December 13, 2024 – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour proudly hosted the Marco Island Holiday Junior Open this past weekend, December 21-22, 2024, at The Rookery at Marco Island in Naples, Florida. The 36-hole tournament featured an impressive field of talented junior golfers competing across six divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys Under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13.
Nick Allen of Naples, FL, secured first place with a stellar performance, scoring 73-round one, and 75-round two for a combined total of 148 strokes. Runner-up honors went to both Mikey Karwaski from Commerce Township, MI and Roland Write from Shepherdstown, WV. Karwaski finished the weekend with scores of 75 and 74 for a total of 149. Write also finished with a 149, putting up a 79 on round 1 and an impressive 70 for round 2.
Kaden Latreille of Naples, FL, claimed victory with a combined score of 144 (73, 71). Luke MacDonald from Calgary, Canada finished in second place with rounds of 77 and 75, totaling 152. Kieran Small from Uxbridge, Canada took home the third-place honors with scores of 74 and 80, for a weekend total of 154.
Julian Bugara from Prospect Heights, IL emerged victorious, recording scores of 75 and an impressive 68 for a combined total of 143. Bugara was the lowest round of the weekend! Chi San Allen Huang, from Bradenton, FL finished with the runner-up honors. Huang brought in scores of 77 and 72, for a combined total of 149 for the weekend. Rounding out the top three honors was Liam McMenamy from Mineola, NY. McMenamy finished the weekend with scores of 76 and 79, for a weekend total of 155.
Alayna Friedt from Naples, FL, delivered an outstanding performance, taking first place with scores of 75 both days. Friedt took home her victory after having to play in a playoff with Ella Scott. With a birdie on the second playoff hole, Friedt was claimed the champion. Ella Scott from Castle Rock, CO put up a tough fight over the weekend. With runner honors she was able to bring in scores of 78 and 72 for a weekend total of 150. . Rounding out the top three honors was Isabella Michetti from Naples, FL. Michetti finished with scores of 79 and 76, for a weekend total of 155.
