From May 14-15, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tourheld the Major Championship at the Medalist at Avalon. The tournament was madeup of a 36-hole format with a field of three divisions that included the Boys16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Tucker Wick from Ooltewah, Tennessee was thefirst-place finisher this weekend. Wick brought in scores of 75 and 74 for acombined total of 149 for the weekend. Billy Boroughs from Chattanooga,Tennessee was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 74 for acombined total of 150. Conner Sharp from Chattanooga, Tennessee finished thetop three honors with scores of 75 and 77 for a weekend total of 152.

In the boys 14-15 division, Paul Haire from Jonesborough, TN brought in scores of 74 and 76, he made par 13 times and 10 birdies and Leo Huddleston from Maryville, TN brought in scores of 77 and 73, he made par 25 times and three birdies. Both players totaled 150 and tied for first place. Lewis Niad from Oak Ridge, TN placed in the top three honors with scores of 76 and 79 for a total of 155 for the weekend.

Cadence Nance from Sharpsburg, GA brought in scores of 76 and 75, she made par 16 times with seven birdies totaling 151 for the weekend. Nance placed first in the girls 14-18 division. Last month she placed first in the Atlanta Spring Junior Open. Calley Holbert from Knoxville, TN was runner up with scores of 79 and 77 she had a combined total of 156. With scores of 80 and 77 and a weekend total of 157, Lorien Sweet from Greenback, TN placed in top three honors.
