From February 10-11, 2024, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Lanier Islands Junior Open at Legacy. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions including the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division and Girls U13 Division.
Kyle Huryn from Alpharetta, GA was the first-place finisher of the Lanier Islands Junior Open at Legacy. Huryn scored 73 and 71, giving him a combined total of 144 strokes. Jared Carr from Buford, GA was the runner up. Carr shot 73 and 78, giving him a total of 151 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Matthew Shim from Alpharetta, GA. Shim scored 82 and 73, giving him a combined total of 155 strokes.
Joseph Fielden from Knoxville, TN was the first-place finisher of the Boys 14-15 Division. Fielden scored 82 and 86, giving him a combined total of 168 strokes. Abhishai Thumma from Duluth, GA was the runner up. Thumma shot 92 and 77, giving him a total score of 169 strokes. Maiki Miyagi from Johns Creek, GA rounded out the top three honors. Miyagi scored 86 and 85, giving him a combined total of 171 strokes.
Liam Minton from Warner Robins, GA was the first-place finisher of the Boys 11-13 Division. Minton scored 83 and 77, giving him a combined total of 160 strokes. Smyan Reddy from Suwanee, GA was the runner up. Reddy shot 86 and 89, giving him a total score of 175 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Alvin Nguyen from Suwanee, GA. Nguyen scored 102 and 90, giving him a combined total of 192 strokes.
Tom Wells from Atlanta, GA was the first-place finisher of the Boys U10 Division. Wells scored 88 and 76, giving him a combined total of 164 strokes. John Martin from Marietta, GA was the runner up. Martin scored 81 and 86, giving him a total score of 167 strokes.
Samantha Dewendt from Dawsonville, GA was the first-place finisher of the Girls 14-18 Division. Dewendt scored 81 and 86, giving her a combined total of 167 strokes. Ashlyn Taylor from Atlanta, GA was the runner up. Taylor shot 82 and 89, giving her a total of 171 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Yeheejee (Julie) Lee from Buford, GA. Lee scored 88 and 89, giving her a combined total of 177 strokes.
