Buford, GA – February 9, 2025 – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted an electrifying weekend of competition at the Lanier Islands Junior Open, held February 8-9, 2025, at Legacy on Lanier Golf Club. The tournament featured a challenging 36-hole format, bringing together junior golfers from across the region to compete in six divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 12-13, Boys 10-11, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13.
Carson Pruitt of Flowery Branch, GA, finished in first place this weekend. Pruitt showcased exceptional skill with scores of 73 on Day 1 and 76 on Day 2, for a total of 149 strokes. Oliver Bean of Chattanooga, TN, and Cooper Cassidy of Dacula, GA, tied for second place with a total of 157 strokes each. Bean achieved scores of 82 on Day 1 and 75 on Day 2, while Cassidy posted scores of 77 on Day 1 and 80 on Day 2.
Cole Layow of Nicholasville, KY, claimed victory after a thrilling playoff. Layow recorded scores of 79 on Day 1 and 84 on Day 2, for a total of 163 strokes. Peter Pettit of Atlanta, GA, tied for first with identical scores of 77 on Day 1 and 86 on Day 2, before the playoff determined the champion. Jackson Young of Kennesaw, GA, secured third place with scores of 83 on Day 1 and 85 on Day 2, for a total of 168 strokes.
Graham Hall of Mills River, NC, finished in first place with scores of 88 on Day 1 and 82 on Day 2, totaling 170 strokes. Jack Mallouk of Acworth, GA, claimed second place with scores of 89 on Day 1 and 91 on Day 2, finishing with 180 strokes. Matthew Washington of Roswell, GA, rounded out the top three with scores of 105 on Day 1 and 104 on Day 2, for a total of 209 strokes.
Joshua Myles of Atlanta, GA, captured first place in this division, delivering a steady performance with scores of 108 on Day 1 and 87 on Day 2, for a total of 195 strokes.
Zoey Cho of Suwanee, GA, finished in first place this weekend. Cho demonstrated consistency and skill with scores of 81 on Day 1 and 79 on Day 2, for a total of 160 strokes. Addison Ryland of Soddy Daisy, TN, claimed second place with scores of 99 on Day 1 and 91 on Day 2, for a total of 190 strokes. Jordan Hall of Mills River, NC, earned third place with scores of 100 on both Day 1 and Day 2, achieving a total of 200 strokes.
Tiare Yu of Suwanee, GA, secured the top spot with scores of 85 on Day 1 and 76 on Day 2, for a total of 161 strokes. Bernice Ng of Buford, GA, finished in second place with scores of 93 on Day 1 and 91 on Day 2, totaling 184 strokes. Brynn Mason of Scaly Mountain, NC, rounded out the top three with scores of 101 on Day 1 and 88 on Day 2, for a total of 189 strokes.
