From January 13-14, 2024, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Lake Buena Vista Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format and with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division and Girls U13 Division.
Jake DeBroux from Naples, FL was the first-place finisher for the Lake Buena Vista Junior Open. DeBroux finished with scores of 73 and 76, giving him a combined total of 149 strokes. Cole Ropicky from Wales, WI was the runner up. Ropicky scored 75 and 76, giving him a final score of 151 strokes. Rafa Tanjung from Jakarta, Indonesia rounded out the top three honors. Scoring 74 and 78, Tanjung ended the weekend just one point behind second place with 152 strokes.
Seunghwa Baek from Cheonan-si, Republic of Korea was the first-place finisher for the Boys 14-15 Division after winning in the playoff against Sean Hachmann. Baek and Sean Hachmann from Aldie, VA tied as first-place finishers of the Boys 14-15 Division. Both had a total of 154 strokes, with Baek shooting an 81 and 73, and Hachmann shooting a 75 and 79. CJ Holland from Land O Lakes, FL rounded out the top three honors. Holland shot a 79 in both rounds, giving him a combined total of 158 strokes to finish the weekend.
Fraser Walters from Aberlady, United Kingdom was the first-place finisher of the Boys 11-13 Division. Walters finished under par, shooting a 76 in the first round and a 69 in the second round to earn him a combined total of 145 strokes. Ryan Oats from Lake Mary, FL was the runner up. Oats shot an 89 and 80, giving him a total score of 169 strokes. Noah Grassman from Blaine, MN and Kieran Shaw from Naples, FL tied for third-place honors. Both scored 177 strokes, with Grassman shooting a 94 and 83 while Shaw shot an 87 and 90 to finish the weekend.
Lily Zhang from Buffalo, NY was the first-place finisher for the Girls 14-18 Division. Zhang scored a 77 and 75, giving her a combined total of 152 strokes. Alyssa Zhang from Allison Park, PA was the runner up. Zhang shot a 77 in both rounds, giving her a total of 154 strokes. Chae Min Park from Seoul, Republic of Korea rounded out the top three honors. Park shot an 80 and 76, giving her a total of 156 strokes to end the weekend.
Victoria Lecavalier from Tampa, FL was the first-place finisher for the Girls U13 Division after winning in the playoff against Stella Walters from Aberlady, United Kingdom. Both scored 159 strokes, Lecavalier shooting an 82 and 77 while Walters shot an 83 and 76. Rounding out the top three honors was Amelia Lecavalier from Tampa, FL. Lecavalier scored a 93 and 94, giving her a combined total of 187 strokes to bring the weekend to a close.
