VILLA RICA – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Invited Series #5 at the Mirror Lake Golf Club from July 8-9. Boys and girls traveled from all over the country to participate in the 36-hole tournament. The event had four divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Girls 14-18 and Girls U13.
boys 16-18
In the boys 16-18 division, Ronak Lalaji from Atlanta, GA placed first after securing a playoff win against Nathan Peji. Lalaji finished the weekend with a round 1 score of 79 and round 2 score of 70, ending the weekend with 149 strokes. Ronak has been playing with the HJGT since 2021 in 30 tournaments with over 15 Top 10 finishes. Nathan Peji from Dunwoody, GA finished the weekend with a round 1 score of 75 and 74 in round 2 for a total of 149. Finishing up top three honors, Jake Norris from Birmingham, AL brought in scores of 77 and 76 totaling 153 strokes for the weekend.

boys 14-15
Luke Friend from Acworth, GA placed first in the boys 14-15 division. With five birdies on the weekend, he brought in scores of 74 and 77. Friend finished the weekend with a final score of 151 strokes. This follows an outstanding first place finish at the Invited Club Series #4 at Chapel Hill where he scored an even 144. Dylan Ludlam from Newnan, GA took home the runner up honors on the weekend. In his first HJGT event, Ludlam brought in five birdies and two scores of 84 for a total of 168 strokes. Wheeler White from Palmetto, GA finished up top three honors with a final score of 181.

girls 14-18
In her first HJGT tournament of the year, Macy Fulton from Villa Rica, GA was the first place winner in the girls 14-18 division. Fulton put up a score of 75 in round 1 and 74 in round 2, ending the weekend with a total of 149 strokes. Berkeley Wiggins from Fortson, GA brought in her best score of the year this past weekend and placed as our runner up honors. Her scores of 84 and 78 gave her a final sccore of 162. Finishing up top three honors, Emma McCoy from Villa Rica, GA with a round 1 score of 93 and 80 in round 2 totaling 173 strokes.

girls 13 & under
To finish off a great weekend, Paige Ruhala from Peachtree City, GA played in her first HJGT tournament and was crowned champion of the girls under 13 division. Ruhala had a round 1 score of 82 and a 92 in round 2 totaling 174 strokes. We applaud her efforts on the course this past weekend and hope to see another win at her next tournament.
