SOUTHWICK – This past weekend from May 13-14, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Hartford Junior Open at the Ranch Golf Club. The 36-hole tournament included six divisions, four for boys and two for girls.
Placing first in the boys 16-18 division with scores of 76 and 80, Mitchell Cormier from Walpole, NM made par 19 times with four birdies giving him a total of 156 for the weekend. This is Cormier’s second year in a row winning the Hartford Junior Open. Runner up for the weekend was Andrew Marcotte from Hanover, MA with scores of 77 and 82 his weekend total was 159. Finishing up top three honors was Andrew Dunn from Middletown, CT he brought in scores of 81 and 80 for a total of 161.
Cael Duggan from Westborough, MA made par 20 times with two birdies, he brought in scores of 83 and 79. Duggan totaled 162 for the weekend placing first in the boys 14-15 division, this is his fifth win with HJGT. Kyle Beaudry from Madison, CT was runner up for the weekend. Beaudry scored an 80 and 85 for a combined total of 165. Teddy Halpin from New York, NY scored an 87 and 79 for a total of 166 placing him in top three honors.
First place for the boys 11-13 division was Drexel Luis from Laurel Hollow, NY. Luis scored a 112 and 103, he made par five times and finished off the weekend with a total of 215. This is his first win since joining HJGT in 2022.
Liam Rotatori from Stamford, CT placed first in the boys under 10 division. With scores of 83 and 85, he made par 12 times with two birdies giving him a total of 168 for the weekend. Rotatori has been playing with the HJGT since 2021 and this is his 35th first place win.
Girls 14-18 division first place, Sofia Robinson from Weston, MA made par 15 times with four birdies, she brought in scores of 81 and 82 totaling 163 for the weekend. Robinson previously won the 2020 Kiawah Island Junior Open and the 2023 Massachusetts Spring Junior Open. Samantha Von Rohr from Loudonville, NY places as the runner up with scores of 89 and 82 for a combined total of 171. Anna DeSanto from West Hartford, CT brought in scores of 81 and 95 totaling 176 placing her in top three honors.
