DADE CITY – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the College Prep Series at Saint Leo this past weekend, May 13-14 for boys and girls to come to the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club and play in the 36-hole tournament.
Gavin Clutts from Hazard, KY placed first in the boys 16-18 division. Clutts made par 21 times with 10 birdies, he brought in scores of 70 and 69 for a total of 139. This is Clutts ninth win since joining HJGT in 2018. Runner up for the weekend is Corey Edgar from Wesley Chapel, FL he made par 24 times with five birdies and scored a 74 and 72 for a combined total of 146. Kyle Traub from Metairie, LA placed in the top three honors with scores of 73 and 75 totaling 148.
In the boys 14-15 division, Maddox Ketelaar from Wesley Chapel, FL placed first. He brought in scores of 73 and 75, made par 27 times with five birdies giving him a total of 143 for the weekend. Ketelaar previously placed first in the 2022 Hartford Junior Open, New England Junior Open, Major Championship at Crosswinds and the Hartford Summer Junior Open. With scores of 73 and 75 and a weekend total of 148, Jordan Paulshock from Wesley Chapel, FL was the runner up. Chase Crawford from Palm Harbor, FL scored a 72 and 80 to finish up top three honors with a total of 152.
Zixin Lou from Shanghai, China brought in scores of 72 and 75, she made par 23 times with five birdies for a combined score of 147 for the weekend. Lou placed first in the girls 14-18 division, this was her first tournament and win with HJGT. Mali Van from Wesley Chapel, FL made par 19 times with two birdies, scoring an 85 and 78 for a total of 163 putting her as runner up. With scores of 87 and 85 and a weekend total of 172, Emma Roderick from Tampa, FL finishes up top three honors.
