College Prep Series at Kent State
Kent, OH — The College Prep Series at Kent State, hosted by the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour at Windmill Lakes Golf Club, delivered a weekend of competitive golf and memorable finishes as junior golfers from across the U.S. and Canada showcased their talent and determination.
In the Boys 16–18 Division, Thomas Mankowski of Canton, Ohio, took home the title after back-to-back rounds of 72–72 (+4 total), displaying poise and control throughout the tournament. Heath Boyko of Ontario and Alexander Stiegele of Westlake, Ohio, rounded out the top three, each demonstrating consistency under tough fall conditions.
Jordan Bello of Beaver, Pennsylvania, captured the Boys 14–15 Division with a steady 84–84 (+28) performance, pulling ahead with disciplined course management and a reliable short game.
In the Boys 10–11 Division, Agampratap Kanwar of Hudson, Ohio, impressed the crowd with rounds of 74–75 (+9 total) to secure the win over George Moore of Akron. Kanwar’s balanced play set the tone for his first major HJGT victory.
On the girls’ side, Kennedy Farrell of North Canton, Ohio, claimed the Girls 14–18 title, posting 82–82 (+24) to edge out Jocelyn Wintersteen and Jo Nicol in a competitive field. Farrell’s precision and calm under pressure were key in clinching the win.
In the Girls U13 Division, Sai Kohara of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, earned a narrow one-stroke victory with rounds of 88–92 (+40) over Katelyn Plummer of Pennsylvania, in one of the weekend’s most exciting finishes.
The event highlighted the depth of young golf talent in the region and provided players a college-prep style challenge — blending competition with experience on a championship-level course.
