HILTON HEAD – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Coastal Carolina Summer Junior Open presented by Perfect Hands Golf at the Palmetto Dunes Golf Club from July 1-2. Boys and girls traveled from all over the country to participate in the 36-hole tournament. The event had six divisions; Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18 and Girls U13.

Logan Sutto from Monclova, OH placed first in the boys 16-18 division this past weekend. Sutto is a newcomer to the HJGT and this was his second event of the year. In round 1 he brought in a score of 70 and a 72 for round 2 along with four birdies. Logan took the win with a total of 142 strokes. Zane May from Canton, GA placed as the runner up honors for the weekend. With a total of seven birdies and two scores of 72, he had a tournament total of 144. With a final score of 150, Jordan Kish from Massillon, OH finishes up the top three honors.

Leading the boys 14-15 division was Jude Robbins from Frisco, TX. Robbins had a great scorecard for the weekend. With four birdies, he brought in scores of 74 in round 1 and 80 in round 2. He was able to finish in first place with a total of 154 strokes. The runner up honors went to Joseph Condon from Charleson, SC. He brought in scores of 79 and 77 totaling 156 for the weekend. Grayson Clark from Rome, GA brought in his lowest tournament score of the year, he finished up the top three honors with a total of 162 strokes.

In his first tournament of the year, Braceton Beasley from Glenwood, GA was the first place finisher in the boys 11-13 division. With four birdies on the weeken, he put up scores of 71 and 72 for a combined total of 143 strokes. After this tournament he is now ranked in the Top 100 of HJGT point rankings. Reid Henson from Rydal, GA took home the runner up honors. Henson scored an 81 for round 1 and 72 for round 2 totaling 153 strokes for the weekend. Finishing up top three honors was Kai Lacson from Little River, SC. His scores of 82 and 84 gave him a total of 166 strokes.

Newcomer to the HJGT, Ethan Lee from New York, NY finished in first place in the boys under 10 division. Lee did an outstanding job in his first event of the year. He brought in scores of 86 for round 1 and 90 for round 2 along with two birdies. Ethan finished the weekend with a final score of 176 strokes. We applaud Ethan’s efforts on the course and hope to see more wins in the future.

First place in the girls 14-19 division went to Abigayle Buchanan from Richmond, KY. This was Buchanan’s second tournament of the year with HJGT and her first win. Her scores of 81 and 74 gave her a total score of 155 strokes. Kelsey Milburn from Prosper, TX brought in scores of 80 and 83 and McKenna Williams from Canton, NC brought in scores of 77 and 86. Both players tied for the runner up honors with a final score of 163 strokes.

To finish off a great weekend, Arley Jennings from Spartanburg, NC finished the weekend as our champion in the girls under 13 division. This is Jennings third tournament of the year and her third Top 2 finish. She was able to secure the victory with a total of 163 strokes. Arley is in the Top 15 of HJGT point rankings. With one birdie and a final score of 198, Stella Maple from Batesville, IN takes home the runner up honors.
