From February 24-25, 2024, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Central Florida Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format and with a field of six divisions, including the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division and Girls U13 Division.
Rafa Tanjung from Jakarta, Indonesia was the first-place finisher of the Boys 16-18 Division. Tanjung scored 72 and 77, giving him a combined total of 149 strokes. Chase Bauer from Gotha, FL and Dong Gyu Oh from Seoul, Republic of Korea were tied for runner up just one point behind the lead. Both juniors scored 150 strokes, with Bauer shooting 77 and 73 while Oh shot 78 and 72.
Tien Do from Tamps, FL was the first-place finisher of the Boys 14-15 Division after winning a tiebreaker shootout. Do scored 81 and 71, giving him a combined total of 152 strokes. Seunghwa Baek from Cheonan-si, Republic of Korea was the runner up. Baek shot 72 and 80, finishing with 152 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Brady Fallon from Clearwater, FL. Fallon scored 82 and 74, giving him 156 strokes to finish the weekend.
Luke Russell from Newton, MA was the first-place finisher of the Boys 11-13 Division. Russell scored 85 and 78, giving him a combined total of 163 strokes. Blake Peeper from Orlando, FL was the runner up. Peeper shot 84 and 80, finishing just one point behind the leader with 164 strokes. Derick Katz from Weston, MA rounded out the top three honors. Katz scored 89 and 79, giving him a combined total of 168 strokes to finish the weekend.
Colin Seo from New York, NY was the first-place finisher of the Boys U10 Division. Seo scored 86 and 83, giving him a combined total of 169 strokes. Oliver Zhang from Orlando, FL was the runner up. Zhang shot 87 and 84, finishing with a score of 171 strokes. Rounding out the leaderboard was Travis Reaves from Lake Mary, FL. Reaves scored 92 and 84, giving him a combined total of 176 strokes.
McKenna Murphy from Longwood, FL was the first-place finisher of the Central Florida Junior Open. Murphy scored 78 in the first round and 3-under par 69 in the second, giving her a combined total of 147 strokes. Chae Min Park from Seoul, Republic of Korea was the runner up. Park shot 75 and 77, finishing with a total of 152 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Lily Martin from Inlet Beach, FL. Martin scored 79 and 80, giving her a combined total of 159 strokes.
Skylar Kotzen from Wellesley, MA was the first-place finisher of the Girls U13 Division. Kotzen scored 80 and 76, giving her a combined total of 156 strokes. Hazel Hegstrom from Providence, RI was the runner up. Hegstrom shot 88 and 80, finishing with 168 strokes. Rounding out the leaderboard was Jingqi Huang from Hopkinton, MA. Huang scored 94 and 83, giving her a combined total of 177 strokes.
