Sanford, NC – January 20, 2025 – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Carolina Junior Open this past weekend, January 18-19, 2025, at Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, NC. The tournament featured a 36-hole format and included a strong field across multiple divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 12-13, Boys 10-11, and Girls 14-18.
Patrick Carl from Mount Airy, MD, finished in first place with an impressive performance. Carl posted a solid 80 on Day 1 and came back stronger with a stellar 73 on Day 2, for a combined total of 153. Carson Andel from Sartell, MN, finished tied for second place with rounds of 77 on both Day 1 and Day 2, achieving a total of 154. Sharing the runner-up spot was Chase Larson from Edina, MN, who improved from a steady 79 on Day 1 to a remarkable 75 on Day 2, also finishing with a total of 154.
Marshall Tech from North Beach, MD, finished in first place. Tech brought in scores of 87 on Day 1 and 78 on Day 2 for a combined total of 165 for the weekend. Timothy Hauser from Stony Point, NY , claimed second place with consistent rounds of 83 on both days, for a total of 166. Nicolas Burgos from Raleigh, NC, finished in third place with scores of 83 on Day 1 and 90 on Day 2, for a weekend total of 173.
Dawson Griffin from Advance, NC, finished in first place. Griffin delivered scores of 87 on Day 1 and 85 on Day 2, for a combined total of 172. Jack Shea from Harleysville, PA, secured second place with scores of 101 on Day 1 and an impressive 75 on Day 2, finishing with a total of 176. Lucas Tech from North Beach, MD, rounded out the top three with scores of 88 on Day 1 and 96 on Day 2, for a total of 184.
Cristina Murphy from Chapel Hill, NC, finished in first place. Murphy posted scores of 101 on Day 1 and an improved score of 87 on Day 2, for a weekend total of 188. Daphne Breen from Beverly Hills, MI, claimed second place with scores of 103 on Day 1 and 95 on Day 2, finishing with a total of 198. Audrey King from Nolensville, TN, secured third place with scores of 108 on Day 1 and 95 on Day 2, for a combined total of 203.
