From June 11-12, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tourheld the Ballyowen Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole formatwith a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13Division.

Arav Tank from Woodcliff Lake, new Jersey was the first-place finisher this weekend. Tank brought in scores of 73 and 77 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Nathan Tallinder from Madison, New Jersey was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 77 and 75 for a combined total of 152. Eli Kaufman from Montville, New Jersey finished the top three honors with scores of 71 and 82 for a weekend total of 153.

boys 14-15
Kaiden Capurso from Bayport, NY was the first place finisher in the boys 14-15 division this past weekend. His scores of 77 in round 1 and 76 in round 2 brought him his first HJGT win of the year as well as his lowest score of 153 strokes. Capurso will participate next in July at the Trump Westchester Junior Open presented by Perfect Hands Golf. The runner up honors went to Brendan Gelnaw from Tequesta, FL. Gelnaw also brought in his best HJGT tournament score this weekend. With a round 1 score of 77 and 76 in round 2 he finished off the weekend with 156 strokes. Jake Aronson from Demarest, NJ finished up in the top three honors with scores of 77 and 82 totaling 159 strokes.

Leading the boys 11-13 division was Ryan Liu from Manhasset, NY. With seven birdies on the weekend, he put up scores of 74 and 73. Liu took home the win with a total of 147 strokes. This is his third tournament win of the year. He is currently in the Top 10 of HGJT point rankings. Newcomer to HJGT, Rohnik Shah from Morristown, NJ places as our runner up honors. With six birdies on the weekend, he had a total score of 150 strokes. In a tie for top three honors, Jesus Alvarez from Montville, NJ and Axel Brandes from Bernardsville, NJ both had total scores of 153 strokes.

girls 14-18
To finish off a great weekend, Heyon Choi was the first place winner in the girls 14-18 division. Choi finished the weekend with an exceptional scorecard. With five birdies on the weekend, she put up scores of 75 for both days. She finished off the weekend with a total of 150 strokes. With a total of 153, Natalie Spiska places as the runner up honors. Spiska, from Jersey City, NJ brought in a score of 80 for round 1 and 73 for round 2. Finishing up in the top three honors, with a score of 155 strokes was Reese Hannon from Tewksbury, NJ.
