Eligibility for HJGT Girls 13 & Under Division

Girls age 13 and under are eligible to participate in the HJGT Girls U13 division. A player’s age division is determined by their age during round two. A player may move up during the middle of the season. As an example, if a player is 13 and turns 14 during the middle of the season, she will play the remainder of the season from the 14-18 division. Points do not roll over to another division. Players will be permitted to earn points in two age divisions.

In the 13 & Under division, if there is only one player in the field, then she will be moved up one division automatically.

Eagle Creek Golf Club
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Eagle Creek Holiday Open concluded at Eagle Creek Golf Club with the Girls U13 division taking on one of the most demanding tests of the week, as the course’s strategic water hazards and exposed green complexes challenged every aspect of the game. Over two rounds, perseverance and composure proved just as important as shot-making. Rytta Qi, competing out of West Vancouver, British Columbia, navigated the full championship test to earn the division title, finishing at +52 after rounds of 97 and 101. Eagle Creek’s layout required constant commitment off the tee and precise distance control into greens that offered little forgiveness, turning each hole into a lesson in patience and resilience. For the youngest competitors, the venue provided a true championship-style experience, where managing emotions and staying focused through adversity mattered as much as the scorecard. The course consistently rewarded thoughtful decisions while quickly penalizing rushed or aggressive choices. As part of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour holiday schedule, the Eagle Creek Holiday Open once again delivered meaningful competitive opportunities for developing players. For Qi, the victory reflected determination and the ability to stay committed through a challenging weekend — a valuable experience gained on a course that demands respect from start to finish.

PGA National Resort - Fazio
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — The PGA National Junior Open presented by GEICO concluded with a composed and disciplined performance in the Girls U13 division at PGA National Resort, where one of junior golf’s most demanding venues once again required patience, precision, and resilience well beyond a player’s age. Emerging from the field was Meiyi Li, who delivered the lowest score of the division and one of the strongest closing rounds of the championship. Competing out of West Vancouver, British Columbia, Li followed an opening-round 78 with an impressive 71 on Sunday to finish at +5, separating herself on a course where scoring opportunities are rare and momentum is difficult to sustain. Li’s closing round reflected a mature approach to PGA National’s challenges, navigating water-lined holes and firm greens with discipline and confidence. As conditions tightened late in the round, her ability to manage risk and stay composed proved decisive, particularly on a layout that punishes impatience. Behind her, Eva Cortes of Lake Worth, Florida, finished second at +17, while Victoria Coron claimed third at +20, as the remainder of the field battled a venue that demanded full commitment on every shot. For the Girls U13 competitors, PGA National offered a true championship-style experience, reinforcing the importance of course management and emotional control. As part of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s premier winter schedule, the PGA National Junior Open presented by GEICO once again delivered a proving ground that mirrors the demands of elite tournament golf. For Li, the victory was defined by poise under pressure and a fearless yet disciplined closing performance — a fitting outcome on a course that rewards composure and maturity at every level.
