The HJGT will be returning to Bradenton, FL for the IMG CC Junior Classic April 27-28 weekend. The previous event hosted at IMG Academies G&CC, January 26-27, saw a turnout of over 85 players competing across 4 age divisions. This event will guarantee 4 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Performance Stars to the Boy’s 15-18 Champion along with the Girl’s 15-18 Champion. The winner of the Boy’s 11-14 division will earn 1 performance. These performance stars are part of the AJGA performance based entry system and 4 are equivalent to 1 exemption into an AJGA event. In addition the event will be ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS). On site at each HJGT event will be National Scouting Report (NSR) to help guide players and provide the necessary tools to earn a scholarship to play collegiate golf. Winners in each division will receive an automatic bid into the 2013 tour championship and top ten finishers will earn points towards year end honors which include state teams, all HJGT teams, and the Hurricane Cup. Event format will consist of 36-hole stroke play, with 18 holes played Saturday and Sunday. Each round will be a double tee start with tee times Saturday and Sunday running from 7:30AM-9:30AM. The awards ceremony will follow the event Sunday where top 3 finishers will be handed out trophies. The player in each division who accumulates the most birdies will be awarded an EFX bracelet and each division will have a comeback player, awarded to the individual who shaves the most strokes off of their score from Saturday to Sunday. Each Comeback player will earn an entire set of Golf Pride Grips. To register for the event visit www.hjgt.org; registration for members is $179 and $199 for non-members. The IMG Academies Golf and Country Club sits right along Sarasota’s Bay. Located in southwest Bradenton the IMG Academy Golf Course is a “Championship-level” course. About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
