How HJGT Works

Teen Golfer Teeing Off

How Does the HJGT Work?

The Hurricane Junior golf tour is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the nation. It is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 8-18, giving them a chance to play on a variety of amazing courses and make connections with other players and coaches involved in the modern game.

Throughout the year, we play across the U.S. hosting open-registration tournaments, special, invite-only events for those who qualify, and major championships as well as annual cups and a national championship. The HJGT is a great opportunity for any young person who is interested in golf to get started competing and learning more about the game. The HJGT has players of all skill levels, which means serious players can showcase themselves to the top universities in the country, while young golfers who are just starting out can build their tournament resume. The HJGT has been one of the most successful junior tours in the world due to our mission to be inclusive and offer opportunities to juniors of all walks of life and skill level.

How Do Ranking and Points Work?

HJGT works on a point system for rankings, and depending on the event, there may be a different point structure. In order to accumulate points and win your division, you MUST be a member for the 2023 Season. You may sign up for a membership here.

Age Divisions

Points may only be earned in your age division. Points do not carry over to the older age division if you change divisions during a season. Players who change divisions during a season due to a birthday or players allowed to play up, could potentially have points listed under both age divisions. If you have a birthday in the first half of the year and you will be changing divisions we encourage you to consider playing up from the beginning of the year if you are ready.

Within each division, the Player of the Year will be awarded to the player that accumulates the most points throughout the season. 2023 points race will end on Dec. 3, 2023 after the national championship.
