Points Explanation

Points for the 2018 season will be awarded at every event.

Points for the 2018 season will be awarded at every event, however there are now 4 different types of points structures depending on the event. Please see the breakdown below. In 2018, the HJGT will introduce a new points system that will feature multiple positive changes. Players will count points for their best 8 finishes of the year. For example, if a player competes in 12 HJGT events per year they will take their 8 highest point finishes and the 4 lowest will be thrown out and will not count towards his/her total. The ALL HJGT teams and players of the year will be announced after the final round of the National Championship on December 2nd. There will be an awards ceremony concluding the event on Sunday evening.
2018 points race will end on Dec. 2, 2018 after the national championship.

Within each division, the Player of the Year will be awarded to the player that accumulates the most points throughout the season. Each division’s Player of the Year will be invited to sit down together with their respective division ambassador for an intimate, 30-minute sit-down, and will be flown to a city of the ambassador’s choosing for the meeting.

Ties

If there are ties for a specific place, the points will be split evenly. For example, a three-player tie for third place would result in each player receiving 433 Points (1300 total points for third-, fourth- and fifth-place divided evenly among three players).

Age Divisions

Points may only be earned in your age division. Points do not carry over to the older age division if you change divisions during a season. Players who change divisions during a season due to a birthday or players allowed to play up, could potentially have points listed under both age divisions. If you have a birthday in the first half of the year and you will be changing divisions we encourage you to consider playing up from the beginning of the year if you are ready.
