Central Florida Spring Break Junior Open

Our first tournament of the weekend takes us down to sunny Kissimmee Florida, located just outside of Orlando. The Stonegate Golf Club is nestled amid 3,300 acres of pristine wetlands and woodlands. Stonegate Golf Club at Solivita prides itself on its 100-year-old oak hammocks, lush greenery, peaceful waterways, and streams. Stonegate Golf Club is a 36-hole combination that provides a challenging variety of shot-making opportunities for residents and visitors alike. There is some interesting weather ahead for our packed field of 160 golfers this weekend in Kissimmee. Saturday will be very warm with a high of 89 and a low of 70 with scattered showers predicted for the evening. The day will bring mostly cloudy skies to go with the heat. Sunday will be even more interesting with showers predicted through the morning which will cool down the temperatures, but it will bring some winds so be aware of that on the course. The high for Sunday is 79 with a low of 55. For our players going to Kissimmee, pack your full wardrobe for the heat on Saturday and the rain on Sunday. This tournament will provide you with all the elements, so be ready for them.

Cherokee County Junior Open at Towne Lake

The next tournament of the weekend takes us up one state to Georgia. The Cherokee County Junior Open at Towne Lake will be in Woodstock, Georgia. The Towne Lake Hills Golf Club  Designed in 1994 by Arthur Hills, this signature course receives rave reviews from golfers of all levels. Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens are skillfully designed and always impeccably maintained. With its rolling green hills and lovely wooded countryside, Towne Lake Hills offers natural beauty with a distinct challenge. Whether you’re there for a day or for a lifetime of membership privileges, you can count on this beautiful course to be “The Best Golf in Towne.” The weather will be unkind this weekend in Woodstock, Georgia. Saturday shows rain and chances of thunderstorms with some wind. The high for Saturday will be 66 with a low of 44. Sunday will dry up a little bit but bring brisker temperatures. Be prepared for a wet Saturday followed by a chilly Sunday down in Georgia.

Hilton Head Junior Open

Looking at the third tournament of the weekend we travel farther north to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The host course in South Carolina this weekend will be the Country Club of Hilton Head. This course offers a Rees Jones masterpiece that truly captures the essence of low-country golf in South Carolina. During your round, you will travel through pine forests and marshlands with views of the Intracoastal Waterway. The course is a great test of golf that will challenge all levels of players and has proudly hosted a U.S. Open Qualifier. This stunning course will bring a great challenge for our maxed out field of players this weekend. Looking ahead at the weather, it will be a warm weekend in South Carolina. However, Saturday holds some scattered rain and thunderstorms lasting into the early afternoon. The upside to this though is that Saturday will have a high of 70 and a low of 57. Sunday will dry out for the tournament’s second day, but the temperatures will drop a little. The high for Sunday is 68 with a low of 47. There may be some sunshine in the morning that will transition into mostly cloudy skies by the afternoon. Be prepared for a wet first day of competition but expect drier conditions for Sunday.

Memphis Junior Open

Our next tournament brings us west to Olive Branch, Mississippi. Olive Branch lies just 30 minutes outside of Memphis, Tennessee. The host club for this tournament will be the Timber Truss Golf Course.  Formerly known as the Plantation Golf Club, our 180-acre property offers a rich legacy combined with modern amenities to elevate your experience. Get ready to soak up the epic vibes of our stunning surroundings as you dive into the ultimate golfing experience at Timber Truss Golf Course. For this tournament, be prepared to pack a jacket as it will be chilly this weekend. Looking at Saturday, it will very overcast and cool. The high is 57 with the low being 37. Don’t forget to pack a smile because Sunday promises to be gorgeous. A mostly sunny day with the high being 58 and the low being 37. Pack some sunscreen for Sunday too because the UV Index is expected to get up to 6 in Mississippi.

Williamsburg Junior Open

We travel all the way north to Williamsburg, Virginia for the second-to-last tournament this weekend. The Colonial Heritage Golf Course will be hosting us this weekend in Virginia. The Colonial Heritage Golf Course is an artfully crafted Arthur Hills golf course masterpiece. It emulates the classic beauty and refinement of the natural terrain and landscape of its southern Virginia surroundings. Strategically placed bunkers, undulating fairways and carefully planned water features create an enjoyable golfing experience for all playing abilities from novice to expert. As with most of our tournaments this weekend, expect some rain showers on Saturday that will continue to the evening. The high for Saturday will be 59 with a low of 52. At least there is consistency in the temperature. Sunday will dry up and be mostly sunny throughout the day. The high will drop to 58 from Saturday’s 59 but the sun will be there. The low for Sunday will be a nice brisk 37 degrees. With the sunshine, expect some higher winds of up to 15 mph. It will turn into a nice weekend in Williamsburg once you get through a wet Saturday.

Spring Break Desert Junior Open

Last but certainly not least in our tournament preview is the Spring Break Desert Junior Open. For this tournament, we travel to warm and sunny Arizona. The Union Hills Country Club will play host to this desert tournament. Union Hills Country Club, Opened in 1974 as a private facility, Union Hills Country Club may be the most classic Phoenix golf course you’ve never heard of. Welcoming the public since 2014, in 2023 Union Hills was acquired by new owners who are meticulously restoring the course to its former glory, albeit with a modern flair. We’re relentlessly focused on improving course conditions and attracting a diverse set of golfers who love the game. Union Hills celebrates the purity of golf. We don’t offer frills that drive up cost, nor add gimmicks that slow down your round. The course is a beautifully designed, increasingly well-maintained track that plays to all skill levels. This club lies just on the outskirts of Phoenix, so let’s take a look at what weather to expect for the area this weekend. Whew, it is going to be a nice weekend in Arizona. Saturday looks to be mostly sunny with very little wind. The high for Saturday will be a warm 76 with a low of 50. Sunday really heats up with a high of 81 and a low of 54. Sunday will bring scattered clouds so hopefully, that will shield you some from the Arizona sunshine. For both Saturday and Sunday, there will be a high UV Index so pack as much sunscreen as possible. A hat is also highly recommended. The Phoenix area will be warm and dry, so enjoy the beautiful weather while you get in some great competition.
