Tournament Preview: March 23-24

Another weekend, another set of tournaments spread across the nation. This weekend, the tour travels to New Jersey, Georgia, Virginia, Ohio, and Florida for 6 tournaments. Let’s take a look at each of these tournaments to help you prepare for this weekend.

World Golf Village Junior Open

The first tournament of the weekend takes place in Saint Augustine, Florida. The World Golf Village plays host to the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. This weekend’s course will be Slammer and Squire. Slammer and Squire will tee off from under the tower of the World Golf Hall of Fame. This course was designed by architect Bobby Weed along with Hall of Fame Members, Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen. These men shared a desire to build a course that rewards good shot-making while preserving the area’s natural beauty. What developed is a well-groomed course that showcases the unspoiled wooded areas, wetlands, and natural beauty. The layout is open with several contoured greens. A few water hazards come into play, but the views of the Hall of Fame will overshadow any challenges you may face.

The weather may prove to be treacherous on Saturday but will be considerably more pleasant on Sunday. According to the Weather Channel, Saturday will have scattered thunderstorms in the morning which will be more widespread in the afternoon. The high for Saturday will be 79 degrees with the chance of rain sitting around 70%. Sunday will cool off with the high being 68 degrees.
