There is a new star on the rise and she is a force to be reckoned with.
Leah Reddykotha won the Girls 14-18 Division at the Saint Simons Island Junior Open. Reddykotha showcased her talents as she beat her second-place opponent McKenna Williams by a total of 5 strokes.

The battle for first was a close one between Reddykotha and Williams. The first round was tight as Reddykotha shot an opening 84 and Williams an 86. But, in the second round, Reddykotha pulled away and took home the championship title. Reddykotha finished day 2 with a score of 80, while Williams finished with an 83. This close match was one for the ages!
We asked Reddykotha how it felt getting her most recent win and she said, ”It felt really fulfilling. I try and put in as much work as I can on and off the course, and getting to see it pay off makes me feel even more optimistic about my future in golf.”
Reddykotha has enjoyed making many friends on her journey at HJGT. She has also enjoyed the different tournaments she has competed in with the many skilled golfers involved in them. Her favorite part is that “it’s nation-wide which allows me to travel and play great courses in different states.” Reddykotha tries to practice every single day! If it’s for nine holes or a single hour, it allows her to keep improving her rhythm.
In the future, Reddykotha hopes to play in Division 1 for college golf to make a name for herself and to show that she can compete at the highest level. Not only is Reddykotha an avid golf lover, but she is an all-around sports fan. She has a passion for golf, volleyball, or basketball. Reddykotha said, “I will always give my full commitment no matter the outcome.”
