Rome Junior Open Champion Chance Peterson

Chance is from Cohutta, Georgia and in the Class of 2032. We caught up with him after his big win in Rome.

What do you enjoy most about the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour?

“I appreciate the quality of the competition and the set up of the courses.”

How did it feel to get your most recent win on the tour?

“It is always good to get a win, but I enjoy the process and the competition. I always want to play my best, but golf is difficult and I know to appreciate the good rounds!”

How do you prepare for a tournament?

“I prepare for a tournament by working on my short game, especially putting. I feel the best players play well tee to green, but the elite players separate themselves by how well they chip and putt.”

What are your career aspirations?

” I want to play college golf. If golf can help me get a college education, then I feel that would be amazing! Also, I am a big fan of college golf. The opportunity to play on a team (like middle school) would be fun!”

What do you want people to know about you?

“I really like being around my family and friends. I really like drinking Prime and I love a good sandwich from Buccees! I really like all sports but golf is my favorite!”

Congratulations to Chance on his red-hot start to 2024! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the young golfer’s future.
