Eligibility for HJGT Boys 12-13 Division

Boys between the ages of 12 and 13 are eligible to participate in the HJGT Boys 12-13 division. A player’s age division is decided by his or her age during round two. A player is permitted to move up a division during the mid-season. For example, if a player is 13 and turns 14 during the middle of the season, he will play the remainder of the season in the age 14-15 division. Points do not roll over to another division. Players can earn points in two age divisions.

Central Florida Junior Open at Stonegate

Stonegate Golf Club at Solivita
The Boys 12-13 division at the Central Florida Junior Open brought one of the strongest turnaround performances of the weekend at Stonegate Golf Club at Solivita. On a course that demanded patience and maturity, Zain Sadiq separated himself with an impressive final-round response, following an opening 81 with an even-par 72 to close at 9-over and claim the division title in dominant fashion. That second-round 72 was the difference-maker. While the rest of the field battled the course and tried to keep scores in check, Sadiq elevated his game and posted the low round of the division by a wide margin. It was the kind of performance that showed resilience, adjustment, and the ability to settle in under tournament conditions. Benjamin Branam and Jayden Jiang shared runner-up honors at 23-over, while Sean Stuart finished fourth at 28-over. What made this division stand out was not just the final scores, but the way Stonegate required young players to stay mentally tough over two days. It is a course that exposes impatience and rewards players who can regroup quickly, and that is exactly what happened here. Zain’s bounce-back round was the clearest example of that, turning a competitive division into a convincing win through composure and execution. For the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, this is the kind of event environment that matters. These younger divisions need venues that challenge decision-making as much as ball-striking, and Stonegate did that. The Central Florida Junior Open gave the Boys 12-13 field a meaningful competitive test, and it gave the eventual champion a real stage to prove he could rise to it.

Lake Worth Junior Open at Fountains

The Fountains Country Club - West
The Boys 12-13 division at the Lake Worth Junior Open was a fight through difficult scoring conditions, and Jackson Coutu came out on top by doing the one thing The Fountains Country Club demanded all weekend: staying composed when the course pushed back. After opening with a 77, Coutu closed with an 84 to finish at 19-over and secure the division title by two shots. This was not a division where anyone could coast. Sebastian Uribe stayed right on Coutu’s heels and finished runner-up at 21-over, while Tomas Endere took third at 24-over after improving on his opening round with an 81 on Sunday. The separation was small enough that every stretch mattered, which made consistency and damage control the deciding factors over two rounds. That is what The Fountains did well throughout the event. It forced younger players to think their way around the course, stay patient after mistakes, and continue competing even when the round got difficult. That is valuable tournament experience. It teaches players that winning is not always about going low—it is often about managing the conditions better than everyone else. For the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, that is exactly the type of competitive environment that helps junior golfers grow. The Lake Worth Junior Open gave the Boys 12-13 division a real test, and Jackson Coutu’s performance showed the kind of steadiness that earns a championship.
