The Boys 14–15 Division at the PGA National Fall Junior Open was nothing short of a battle.
Lucas Zhao (Brossard, Quebec, Canada) proved that patience and composure pay off. With a final score of +4 (112), Zhao held his ground when the course tried to push back. His second-round 73 was a textbook display of smart course management, securing a one-stroke victory and the champion’s spot at the top of the leaderboard.
Blake Waidlich (Keene, NH) refused to make it easy on Zhao, finishing just one shot back at +5 (113). Despite the tough conditions, Waidlich fought through every hole, keeping the pressure alive until the very end.
Not far behind, Reagan Johnson (Sevierville, TN) claimed 3rd place at +7 (115). Johnson’s consistency early on kept him in contention, and even as the course grew tougher on Sunday, he battled to stay among the leaders.
International competitor Maximilian Landry (Nassau, Bahamas) secured 4th at +13 (121), while Florida standouts Parker Heaton (Juno Beach, FL) and Gilberto Morales (Key Biscayne, FL) tied for 5th at +14 (122). Both showcased resilience, grinding through the final round in tough scoring conditions.
The effort didn’t stop there—William Argenziano (Garden City, NY), Joseph Dieppa (Miami, FL), and Harper Chane (North Palm Beach, FL) each powered through to complete the event, reminding everyone that determination is just as important as shot-making in junior golf.
Even with the odds stacked against them, the Boys 14–15 Division delivered a weekend of exciting, resilient golf. Their ability to push through tough conditions not only highlighted their skill, but also their competitive character—proving once again that the next wave of golfers is ready for whatever challenge comes their way.
