Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Cog Hill Junior Open this past weekend, July 14-15, at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of 6 divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15, Division, Boys 12-13 Division, Boys 10-11 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls U13 Division.
Tate Guyton from Niles, MI claimed first place this weekend with rounds of 67 and 70, finishing with a total score of 137. Zach Matthys earned runner-up honors with scores of 77 and 69 for a total of 146. Tyler Murray from O’Fallon, IL finished in third place with scores of 74 and 73 for a weekend total of 147.
Sam Espinosa from Plainfiled, IL and Tyler Miles from Dorado, Puerto Rico finished tied for first place. Espinosa brought in scores of 74 and 78, while Miles carded rounds of 75 and 77, both finishing the weekend with a combined total of 152. After a playoff, Sam Espinosa emerged victorious. Charles Ballard from Palm Coast, FL finished in third place with scores of 76 and 78 for a weekend total of 154.
Thomas Zur from Miami Beach, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Zur brought in scores of 73 and 78 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Master Phongsanard Kuljiraakra from Bangkok, Thailand finished in second place with scores of 78 and 74 for a weekend total of 152. Ivan Burgos from Naperville, IL finished in third place with scores of 141 and 130 for a weekend total of 271.
Edward Ge Yin from Bangkok, Thailand was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ge Yin brought in scores of 111 and 104 for a combined total of 215 for the weekend.
Sydney Hunt from Peoria, IL and Miah Wanserski from Downers Grove, IL finished tied for first place. Hunt brought in scores of 74 and 77, while Wanserski carded rounds of 76 and 75, both finishing the weekend with a combined total of 151. After a playoff, Sydney Hunt emerged victoriously. Hannah Brown from Frankfort, IL finished in third place with scores of 77 and 76 for a weekend total of 153.
Emma Hwang from Darien, IL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hwang brought in scores of 75 and 72 for a weekend total of 147. Sadie Johnson from Geneva, IL finished in second place with scores of 93 and 83 for a weekend total of 176.
