Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Asheville Junior Opent this past weekend, June 7th-June 8th, at Laurel Ridge Country Club.. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of 5 divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15, Division, Boys 12-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls U13 Division.
Britton Steede from Cramerton, NC was the first place finisher for the weekend. Steede brought in scores of 81 and 76 for a weekend total of 157 strokes. Ian Irish from Cramerton, NC as the runner up this weekend with scores of 79 and 82 for a weekend total of 161 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Jackson McCall from Fletcher, NC. McCall finished the weekend with scores of 85 and 79 for a weekend total of 164 strokes.
Jackson Young from Kennesaw, GA was the first place finisher for the weekend after winning in a playoff. Young finished with scores of 84 and 80 for a weekend total of 164 strokes. Pete Pettit from Atlanta, GA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 85 for a weekend total of 164 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Charlie Leichtweis from Charlotte, NC who brought in scores of 78 and 87 for a weekend total of 165 strokes.
Ethan Jorgensen from Huntersville, NC was the first place finisher for the weekend. Jorgensen brought in scores of 90 and 94 for a weekend total of 184 strokes. Shane Stepnicka from Jefferson, NC was the runner up this weekend with scores of 95 and 91 totaling a final score of 186 strokes. Rounding out the top three honors was Cooper Boone from Mills River, NC. Boone finished the weekend with a total score of 213 strokes.
Mingle Huang from Columbia, SC was the first place finisher for the weekend. Huang finished with scores of 85 and 81 for a weekend total of 166 strokes. Jordan Hall from Mills River, NC was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 95 and 88 for a weekend total of 183 strokes. Rounding out the stop three honors was Abbey Adams from Clyde, NC. Adams finished with scores of 98 and 100 for a combined total of 198 strokes.
Brynn Mason from Scaly Mountain, NC was the first place finisher for the weekend. Mason finished with scores of 72 and 71 for a weekend total of 143 strokes. Lyla Owens from Liecessester, NC was the runner up for the weekend.
