Saint Simons Island, GA – February 17, 2025 – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the 54 Hole Saint Simons Junior Open this past weekend, February 15-17, 2025, at King and Prince Golf Course in Saint Simons Island, GA. Junior golfers from across the country competed in a thrilling three-day event across multiple divisions, showcasing their skills and determination on the course.
Daniel Garcia from Miami, FL, finished in first place after an exciting playoff, securing victory on the first hole with a par. Garcia brought in scores of 74 on Day 1, 76 on Day 2, and 77 on Day 3, totaling 227 strokes. Yiqi Wang from Lakewood Ranch, FL, finished as the runner-up with scores of 73 on Day 1, 76
on Day 2, and 78 on Day 3, also totaling 227 strokes. Declan Gustavson from Purcellville, VA, rounded out the top three with scores of 74 on Day 1, 75 on Day 2, and 79 on Day 3, finishing with 228 strokes.
Hayes Packee from Delafield, WI, finished in first place with scores of 77 on Day 1, 79 on Day 2, and 73 on Day 3, totaling 229 strokes. Dylan Tran from Jacksonville, FL, secured second place with scores of 78 on Day 1, 84 on Day 2, and 77 on Day 3, finishing with 239 strokes. Brooks Sterner from Appling, GA,
claimed third place with scores of 83 on Day 1, 78 on Day 2, and 85 on Day 3, totaling 246 strokes.
Cindy Moreki from Vanderbijlpark, South Africa, dominated the competition, finishing in first place with scores of 78 on Day 1, 76 on Day 2, and 79 on Day 3, for a total of 233 strokes. Cate Leydig from Big Sky, MT, earned second place with scores of 81 on Day 1, 82 on Day 2, and 78 on Day 3, finishing with 241 strokes. Diana Gao from Foshan, China, rounded out the top three with scores of 85 on Day 1, 82 on Day 2, and 86 on Day 3, totaling 253 strokes.
