Major Championship at Eastlake February 23-24

The stakes are high for the first Major Championship of the 2013 season. The tournament will be held at the East Lake Woodlands Country Club- South Course in Oldsmar, FL. Considering the event is a Major, each golfer will be allowed a caddie for the first time in the young 2013 season. This Major event will offer multiple incentives, the primary one being that points are doubled from the norm and will be awarded to places 1-20 in each age division. Four AJGA performance stars will be given to the winner of both the Boys and Girls 15-18 age division. Places 2-5 will receive one performance star in the Boys 15-18 age division and the winner of the Boys 11-14 division will receive 1 performance star as well. Additionally the winner of three of our divisions, Boys 11-14, 15-18 & Girls 15-18, will receive one exemption into a Florida Junior Tour (FJT) event. The event will be ranked by National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS) and the winners will earn an automatic bid into the 2013 Tour Championship.   Tournament format will consist of 36-hole stroke play. There will be a double tee start on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday tee times will run from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM. The final round tee times will be 7:30AM-9:30AM with an awards ceremony to follow at 2:30 PM. Event registration will run from 10:30AM-12:30PM on Saturday. For membership information please refer to our website   The East Lake Woodlands CC-South Course is a private golf course that opened in 1974. The course was designed by Tom Jackson and measures 6,705 yards from the tips. The course rating is 72.5 with a slope rating of 127.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
