Orange Park, FL (February 18, 2013) – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled south to Orange Park, Florida for the JWU Series 54 hole challenge. The event was the first 54 hole tournament of the year. The tournament was hosted by The Golf Club at Fleming Island which could not have been in better condition. The first two days featured perhaps the worst conditions of any tournament in the young season. Temperatures peaked in the 50s and winds gusted into the high 20s. Monday, however, featured near perfect conditions for the final day of the tournament with temperatures in the 60s and plenty of sun. This tournament was ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and the winnersof both 15-18 age divisions received four performance stars for the AJGA. Also, all top five finishers in the boy’s 15-18 age division received one star. Winners in all four divisions receive an entry into the 2013 Tour Championship and winners in every division excluding the girl’s 11-14 age division receive exemptions for the Florida Junior Tour. Finally, all top 15 finishers receive points towards year end honors including All-HJGT teams and the Hurricane Cup.
