The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will be hosting the JWU series at IMG in Bradenton, Florida. The Johnson & Wales University series will take place on January 26th- January 27th, 2013 at IMG Academy Golf Club. This event will be ranked by three well recognized associations, which include Golfweek, the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), and the Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS). Top finishers will have the opportunity to receive up to 4 performance stars from the American Junior Golf Association. The champions from each division will receive 1 exemption and be given an automatic bid into the 2013 Tour Championship. The Hurricane Cup is a new event that the HJGT is excited to host. Each state will be represented by their top junior golfers in the Hurricane Cup standings.
The JWU series at IMG will feature 36-holes of stroke play. Golfers will be divided into four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14. The first round double tee times will start on Saturday January 26th between 7:30-9:30 am. The second round will begin on Sunday January 27th at 7:30 am based on age division and previous round score. The IMG Academy Golf Club is a pristine golf course and a hidden gem in southwest Florida. IMG Academy Golf Club originally opened in 1972 where members saw a par 72 course with a natural Florida habitat. IMG’s reopening occurred in 2003 the course saw many positive renovations, which have made it technically advanced but still playable and one of the most scenic courses in southwest Florida.
