The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) has finished up its season and the GolfHoliday.com Points Standings are finalized. 1st- Ewen Ferguson –
Ewen Ferguson is from Scotland and won 1st in the division with 6,150. Ferguson is a dangerous player and handles pressure extremely well, coming in 1st in three tournaments by way of a playoff. Ferguson’s first victory came at the 54 Hole Challenge at Fleming Island and the other came in the Hilton Head Junior Shootout. Ferguson had a scoring average of 73.67 this year. His most recent win came at the South Georgia Junior Classic, where he shot 3 under. Ferguson took the points lead with his most recent victory in Hilton Head, SC at the Identi Club Junior Challenge.
-Gonzalo Martinez- Gonzalo Martinez is from Mexico City and placed 2nd in the Boys 15-18 standings with 5,737.50 points. Martinez has played 12 events this year and has finished 1st in the Hilton Head National Junior Classic and the IMG CC Junior Classic, where he shot a two-day total of 4 under par. In the Hilton Head Junior Shootout Martinez finished runner up after a four person playoff. A short six days later Martinez placed runner up again at the Major Championship at Jekyll. Martinez boasts an outstanding scoring average of 75.33 from throughout the year.
3rd- Toks Pedro-Toks Pedro from Bowie, MD held down the 3rd place with a points total of 4,725. Pedro has played in 12 events in the 2012 season, and has place in the top 3 in 6 of them. His most recent win was at the Kikkor Golf Series at Golden Bear, where he shot a two day total of 1 under. Pedro has a total of 52 birdies on the year and averaged 2.29 birdies a round. Pedro looks to have a strong finish season again in 2013 with the Junior Players Golf Academy.
Golf Holiday.com Boys 11-14 Points Leaders
1st-Hunter Dunagan – Hunter Dunagan is from Martinez, GA and won in the Boys 11-14 division with 14,250 points. Out of the seventeen events Dunagan has played in this year, he won seven and placed top 5 in all of them . These wins include Kiawah Island Junior Challenge, Mirror Lake Junior Classic, Major Championship (Younger Divisions), Chateau Elan Junior Shootout, Kikkor Golf Series at Bartram Train, HJ Glove Junior Open, and Major Championship at Bradshaw Farms. Hunter’s scoring average was a 74.06. 2nd-
Josh Lewis – Josh Lewis calls Lake Mary, FL home and took 2nd in the division with 10,950 points. Lewis had an up and down beginning of the season, but recently has played some of his best golf. Lewis has placed first in several of his last tournaments, with a very notable two-day score of 1 over at the College Prep Series at Clemson. He continues to improve his game and has his ambitions set high for the remainder of the season. Lewis has won his last two tournaments, Central Florida Junior Classic and South Florida Junior Classic. He was also Player of the Month in August.
3rd- Zak Butt - Zak Butt of Summerville, SC clinched 3rd place with 8,700 points. Butt played in a total of nine events this year, and won an impressive 6, while placing in the top 3 in eight of them. His tournament wins include, Major Championship at Jekyll and the Identi Club Junior Challenge. His average score is a 72.78, with an average of 2.56 birdies per round. Butt had a strong finish to the 2012 season winning his last four tournaments he played in.
Golf Holiday.com Girls 15-18 Points Leaders
1st-Isidora Quevedo – Isidora Quevedo is from Chile is took home 1st place on the Golf Holiday’s leader board with 6,950 points. Of the fourteen events Quevedo has entered, she has earned a top-five finish in ten, while receiving her first win at the Identi Club Junior Challenge. Quevedo is also quite impressive in the statistical categories, recording a scoring average of 79.93, 36 birdies, and a score of less than par on 7.09% of the holes played this season. Look for Isidora to continue the strong play next year when she returns on the tour.
2nd- So Young Hwang –So Young Hwang from Bradenton, FL finished 2nd in the standings at 5,425 points. Hwang started out hot and she has not looked back since. Hwang started the year out with a win at the Tour Championship. Since then Hwang has placed 1st in Bobby Grace Putters Junior Open (Upper Division) and in the IMG CC Junior Classic. Hwang ended the year with 73.10 scoring average.
3rd - Anita Uwadia - Anita Uwadia from Nigeria took home 3rd place in the points lead with 4,725 points. Uwadia is a member of the Junior Players Golf Academy and has played in 9 events so far this year. Out of those 9 events, Uwadia won 1 and placed in the top 5 in all of them. She boasted a 78.15 scoring average while racking up 35 birdies. Uwadia looks to return in the 2013 season and continue to play extremely well.

1st-Paige Lee Garris –Paige Lee Garris of West Palm Beach, FL is our Girls 11-14 points winner with 10,650. In the fourteen events Garris has played this season, she finished out of the top five just once. Garris has won five of the events she has played in thus far, including a 1st place finish at the 54 Hole Mid Season Championship. Garris is also statistically impressive, recording a scoring average of 85.21 and carding 30 birdies so far this season. Paige had several impressive wins on her resume on her way to first place in the points standings.
2nd-Abby Burditt – Abby Burditt is a St. Augustine resident and a very successful competitor on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Burditt has had a very productive season so far, winning four of the ten events she has entered and earning 6,400 HJGT points. Burditt has played sixteen round this year and throughout these rounds has averaged a score of 85.00. The summer has been especially productive for Burditt. Abby has won the last two tournaments that she has entered (Hunters Green Junior Shootout and 1st Coast Junior Open) and there is no doubt that Burditt will continue this winning streak as the season progresses.
3rd-Hannah Berman – Hannah Berman of Jacksonville, FL won the 3rd place spot in the 2012 points standings. Berman has accumulated 6,175 points throughout the year. Berman has a pair of big victories on tour so far this season. Both the Major Championship at Jekyll Island and Jacksonville Area Golf Association Jr. Championship have been won by Berman. Hannah had a scoring average of 83.17 and averaged 1.25 birdies per round. Berman had a great season and you can expect to continue to see Berman at the top of the tournament leaderboards.
