From Wednesday July 17th through Thursday July 18th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Xingzhi Sports College Prep Series at Maryland. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau boys 10 and Under and Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Jackson Gessamanof Leesburg, VA was able to take home first place honors after a first round 67.Gessaman had a total of 140 strokes for the weekend to win by a one-shot margin over his closest competitor. Panop Nosasing of Orlando, FL had a first round 68 on Wednesday to finish at a total of 141 strokes and claim solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top-three was Kanapos Visuttipinate of Florida with a total of 143 strokes to claim third-place honors.
Michael Snyder of Frederick, MD was able to seal his victory with rounds of 74 and 73 over the week, making 4 birdies both days to finish at a two-day total of 147 strokes. Stephen Patterson Bethesda, MD claimed runner-up honors with a total of 83 shots for a Thursday round. Rounding up the top three were Bobby Nicholson of York, PA and Run Ni of Orlando, FL with weekend totals of 160 strokes for third place tie honors.
Andrew Liu of Clinton, NJ was able to seal his victory with a final round of 78 and a weekend total of 159 strokes. Liu made 2 birdies the last day to win by an impressive margin over his closest competitor. Alexander McClain of Reston, VA shot a total of 183 shots and claimed solo runner-up honors for the division.
Chloe Pittman of Davidson, NC claimed first place honors after shooting a last round 74 to win by a margin of 4 strokes over her closest competitor. Pittman shot a total of 150 strokes and 2 birdies over the weekend to win. Lauren Jones of Newtown Square, PA shot a total of 154 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top three was Vileska Gelpi of Markleton, PA with a total of 155 shots to claim solo third-place honors.
Boys 10 Under
Samuel Han of Ashburn,VA was able to seal his victory with a weekend total of 178 strokes. Han was our lone competitor for the division, shooting consistent rounds for the week in order to take home the victory.
