From March 26th-27th, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the World Golf Village Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.
Boys 16-18
Takanobu Kanda from Bradenton, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kanda brought in scores of 76 and 75 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Connor Williams from Lake City, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 81 and 74 for a combined total of 155. Johann Halldorsson from Reykjavik, Iceland finished top three honors with scores of 77 and 79 for a weekend total of 156.
Boys 14-15
Ryan Nicholson from Ponte Vedra, FL was the first-place finisher after beating Zabe Shores in a playoff match. Nicholson brought in scores of 80 in both rounds for a combined total of 160 for the weekend. Zabe Shores was the runner-up after the playoff match, with scores of 84 and 76 for a combined total of 160. Abhay Sandu from Surrey, Canada finished top three honors with a score of 82 in both rounds for a weekend total of 164.
Boys 11-13
Austin Baker from Moultrie, GA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Baker brought in scores of 77 and 78 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. John Paul Spivey from Douglas, was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 77 and 79 for a combined total of 156. Wade Eddy from Alpharetta, GA finished top three honors with scores of 81 and 78 for a weekend total of 159.
Girls 14-18
Grace Smith from Wallingford, PA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Smith brought in scores of 80 and 74 for a combined total of 154 for the weekend. Amelia Cobb from Ormond Beach, FL was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 82 and 76 for a combined total of 158. Maddie Rathjen from St. Augustine, FL finished top three honors with scores of 80 and 80 for a weekend total of 160.
Girls U13
Carol Ann Mendenhall from Nicholasville, KY was the first-place finisher this weekend. Mendenhall brought in scores of 88 and 89 for a combined total of 177 for the weekend.
Boys 10 Under
Hudson Murray from Bradenton, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hudson brought in scores of 82 and 74 for a combined total of 156 for the weekend. Lucas Spivey from Douglas, GA was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 88 and 83 for a combined total of 171. James Street from Thomasville, GA finished top three honors with scores of 92 and 86 for a weekend total of 178.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
