Winter Junior Open at the Ocean Course

From December 19-20th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Winter Junior Open at the Ocean Course. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Winter Junior Open at the Ocean Course

Jack Burbee from Virginia Beach, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Burbee brought in scores of 77 and 69 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Christian Davidson from Ninety Sic, SC was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 74 for a combined total of 153. Luke Block from Albany, Bahamas finished the top three honors with scores of 82 and 73 for a weekend total of 155.

Winter Junior Open at the Ocean Course

Ryan Leach from Williamsburg, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Leach brought in scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153 for the weekend. Cavan McMeans from Leesburg, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 79 and 78 for a combined total of 157. Vaughn McMeans from Leesburg, VA finished the top three honors with scores of 87 and 74 for a weekend total of 161.

Griffin Ching from Chapel Hill, NC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Ching brought in scores of 78 and 73 for a combined total of 151 for the weekend. Joseph Morinelli from Crozet, VA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 82 for a combined total of 157. Aiden Aguilar from Myrtle Beach, SC and Drew Schauenberg from Barrington, IL tied for the top three honors this weekend. Aguilar brought in scores of 83 and 75 for a weekend total of 158. Schauenberg brought in scores of 82 and 76 for a weekend total of 158.

Faith Garcia from Suffolk, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Garcia brought in scores of 84 and 72 for a combined total of 156 for the weekend. Bridget Wilkie from Bluffton, SC was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 85 and 76 for a combined total of 161. Tara Thomas from Erie, PA finished the top three honors with consistant scores of 82 for a weekend total of 164.

Regan Dusenbery from Wichita, KS and Riley Grimm from Pinehurst, NC tied for the runner up honors this weekend. Dusenbery brought in scores of 79 and 76 for a combined total of 155. Grimm finished the weekend with scores of 77 and 78 for a weekend total of 155.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
