Willowbrook Junior Open

On Saturday, July 14 – Sunday, July 15, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Willowbrook Junior Open in Manchester, Tennessee. The two-day, thirty-six-hole tournament held on the Willowbrook Golf Club consisted of players from five of our divisions, including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Willowbrook Junior Open

Jonathan Xoinis of Chattanooga, Tennessee captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division after finishing the two-day tournament at -2. He made 6 birdies and led his playing field with the lowest scoring average of 71. Second-place finisher was Devin Speight of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee who made 143 strokes for a -1 finish. Sam Marshall of Chattanooga, Tennessee finished in third-place at +1.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Willowbrook Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Charles Becking (Beck) Lewis of Signal Mountain, Tennessee was victorious after his 148 strokes resulted in a +4 finish. He made three birdies and led his playing field with the lowest Par 3 average (3) and the lowest scoring average (74). Teagan Miller of Huntsville, Alabama finished in second-place with 149 strokes through the thirty-six holes to finish at +5. Third-place finisher was Benjamin Burns of Signal Mountain, Tennessee who made 154 strokes for a +10 finish.

Ernie Els 11-13

Willowbrook Junior Open

Cole Campbell’s 153 strokes through the two-days helped him walk away the champion in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division this weekend, finishing at +9. Campbell, of Ethridge, Tennessee, led his playing field with the most birdies (4), the lowest Par 3 average (3.2), and the lowest scoring average (76.5). This is Campbell’s first victory on tour this year, following his 3rd place finish just a month ago.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Hannah Holland of Sale Creek, Tennessee captured the victory in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division as she finished the two-day tournament at +8. She made 3 birdies and led her playing field with the lowest scoring average of 76. Lindsey Hollis of Signal Mountain, Tennessee finished second after she made 154 strokes through thirty-six holes to finish at +10. Third-place finisher was Kaley Campbell of Ethridge, Tennessee ended the weekend at +13.

In the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division, it was Karlie Campbell of Ethridge, Tennessee who walked away the champion after finishing the tournament at +17. She led her playing field with the most birdies (2), the lowest Par 3 average (3.2), and the lowest scoring average (80.5). Second-place finisher was Caroline Burns of Signal Mountain, Tennessee who made 219 strokes for a +75 finish through the thirty-six holes.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
