White Heron Junior Open

From January 22-23, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the White Heron Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division. 


Boys 16-18

Brian Park from Soeul, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Park brought in scores of 70 and 74 for a combined total of 144 for the weekend. Felipe Suarez from Villa Maria, Argentina and Grayson Wood from Fredericksburg, VA tied for runner up this weekend. Suarez had scores of 73 and 77 and Wood had scores of 72 and 78 for a combined total of 150 each.

Mateo Verea from Villa Maria, Argentina was the first-place finisher this weekend. Verea brought in scores of 79 and 81 for a combined total of 160 for the weekend. Morgan Novak from Valrico, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 83 and 90 for a combined total of 173. Felipe Ronco from Villa Maria, Argentina finished the top three honors with scores of 88 and 86 for a weekend total of 174.

Orlando Torres from Oviedo, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Torres brought in scores of 87 and 90 for a combined total of 177 for the weekend. Carson Whitehead from Belleair, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 92 and 90 for a combined total of 180.

Hannah Hall from Rockledge, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hall brought in scores of 81 and 77 for a combined total of 158 for the weekend. ChaeMin Park  from Orlando, Republic of Korea was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 81 for a combined total of 159. Hyoju An from Lakemary, FL and Yoonhee An from Seoul, Republic of Korea tied for top three honors this weekend. Hyoju brought in scores of 82 and 81 and Yoonhee brought in scores of 80 and 83 for a weekend total of 163 each.

Soo ah Kang from Seoul, Republic of Korea was the first-place finisher this weekend. Kang brought in scores of 95 and 88 for a combined total of 183 for the weekend. Yun seo Choi from Seoul, Republic of Korea was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 106 and 92 for a combined total of 198.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
