From August 10th and 11th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Turning Stone Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.
Tiger Woods Boys 16-18
Masaichi Otake from Las pinas, Philippines took home the victory after scoring a 76 and 78 for a combined 154 strokes. The weekend ended in a tie for Runner up. Charlie Fisher from Orchard Park, NY scored a 77 and 79 for a weekend total of 156 strokes. Tyler Birdd from Elma, NY finished the weekend also with a 156. Birdd scored a 79 and 77 over the two-day event.
Will Smith Boys 14-15
Jacob Dantonio from Lancaster, NY took home first-place honors with a weekend total of 154. Dantonio brought in scores of 75 and 79 over the two days. Owen Rooney from Buffalo, NY was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 84 and 74 for a total of 158. Rounding out the top three from Webster, NY was Ryan Makowski. Makowski brought in scores of 87 and 86 for a combined total of 173.
Ernie Els 11-13
Matthew Carpentier from Pittsford, NY was the Ernie Els division winner with scores of 81 and 77 for a combined total of 158. Matt Porter from Manlius, NY took home the runner up title with scores of 90 and 77 a total of 167. Colin Barber from Victor, NY rounded out our top three with scores of 96 and 100 a weekend total of 196.
Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18
Amber Pennington from Accord, NY took homefirst place honors with rounds of 80 and 82 for a total of 162 strokes for the weekend. Claire Yioulos from Honeoya Falls, NY was our runner up for the weekend with scores of 83 and 81 a total of 164 strokes. Fuge Zhang from Tainjin, China finished in third place was a total of 169.
Justin Rose Girls U13
Gina Milazzo from Greenwood Lake, NY took home the first place honors with scores of 90 and 87 a combined total of 177. Jaeda Robinson took home the runner up honors with scores of 134 and 136 a weekend total of 270.
