Trump Westchester Junior Classic

On Monday, July 23 – Tuesday, July 24, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Trump Westchester Junior Classic in Briarcliff Manor, New York. The two-day, thirty-six-hole tournament held on the Trump National Golf Club Westchester, consisted of players from all six of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division. 

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Trump Westchester Junior Classic

Douglas Beney of Rye captured the title in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division with his two-day total of +3. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (73.5) and the most birdies (6). Second-place finisher was Jai Mukraj of Clive, Iowa who made 152 strokes for a +8 finish. Joseph Lostumbo of Flemington, New Jersey completed the thirty-six holes with 154 strokes to result in a +10 finish.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Trump Westchester Junior Classic

It was a fight down to the finish for the first-place title in the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division as Ben Loomis (New Canaan, CT) and Thomas Petrocelli (New York, NY) both completed the thirty-six holes at +21, but it was Loomis who came out on top. Both had a Par-3 average of 3.4 and led their playing field with the lowest scoring average of 82.5. Third-place finisher James Pryor of Greenwich, Connecticut made 174 strokes to finish the two-day tournament at +30.

Ernie Els 11-13

Trump Westchester Junior Classic

In the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Zachary Castro of Las Pinas City, Mexico walked away the champion at +2. He led his playing field with the most birdies (6) and the lowest scoring average (73). Second-place finisher was Lucas Rizo-Patron of Rye, New York who made 164 strokes, resulting in a +20 total through the thirty-six holes. As for third-place, there was a two-way tie between Luke Block (Bluffton, SC) and Nick Joyce (Quakertown, PA) who both completed the thirty-six holes with 172 strokes for a +28 finish.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Trump Westchester Junior Classic

Mariel Isabella Tee of Pasig City, Mexico was victorious again this weekend in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division with her +17 total. She led her playing field with the most birdies (4), the longest birdie or better streak (2) and the lowest scoring average (80.5). Carly Haines (Rye Brook, NY) and Taylor Oberparleiter (Laurel Springs, NJ) both made 162 strokes through thirty-six holes, tying for second-place with their +18 finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Trump Westchester Junior Classic

Briarcliff Manor native, Gabriella DeGasperis came out on top in the playoff against Ellison Lundquist (Furlong, PA) after they both finished +22 through the thirty-six holes. They both led their playing field with the lowest scoring average at 83. Brooke Oberparleiter of Laurel Springs, New Jersey placed third with her 175 strokes and 3 birdies that resulted in a +31 finish.

Boys 10 Under

Trump Westchester Junior Classic

Wading River, New York native Colby Baran was the champion in the Bryson DeChambeau Boys U10 Division as he totaled +14 through the thirty-six holes. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (79) and the most birdies (3). Second-place finisher, Joseph “Ajax” Lanasa of Palm Beach made 161 strokes for a +17 finish. Jackson Armbruster, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, shot 181 strokes that resulted in +37 and the third-place title.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
