TPC Tampa Bay Junior Open

From June 26-27, 2021, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the TPC Tampa Bay Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, and Girls 14-18 Division.

Boys 16-18

Yuo Torii from Howey In The Hills, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Torii brought in scores of 72 and 67 for a combined total of 139 (-3) for the weekend. Benjamin Fernandez from Howey In The Hills, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 70 and 70 for a combined total of 140 (-2). Jung Woo Youn from Guatemala, Guatemala finished the top three honors with scores of 72 and 74 for a weekend total of 146 (+4).

Boys 14-15

Davis Downing from Windermere, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Downing brought in scores of 73 and 75 for a combined total of 148 (+6) for the weekend. Erich Fortlage Arce from Asuncion, Paraguay was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 75 and 76 for a combined total of 151 (+9). Takato Imoto from Howey In The Hills, FL and Daniel Ricardo Sànchez Pennington from Guatemala, Guatemala tied for third place. Imoto brought in scores of 75 and 79 for a combined total of 154 (+12), while Sànchez Pennington tallied scores of 80 and 74 for a combined score of 154 (+12).

Brayden Jones from Seal Beach, CA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Jones brought in scores of 73 and 72 for a combined total of 145 (+3) for the weekend. Konner Kubica from Lutz, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 77 and 76 for a combined total of 153 (+11). Amine El Omari from Wesley Chapel, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 76 and 78 for a weekend total of 154 (+12).

Sakurako Tanaka from Japan was the first-place finisher this weekend. Tanaka brought in scores of 76 and 70 for a combined total of 146 (+4) for the weekend. Ana Maria Jimenez Rios from Merida, Mexico was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 76 and 72 for a combined total of 148 (+6). One Kashima from Tochigi, Japan and Xinyu (Catherine) Wang from Howey In The Hills, FL tied for third place. Kashima brought in scores of 75 and 76 for a combined scored of 151 (+9), while Wang tallied round scores of 74 and 77 for a combined score of 151 (+9).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
