TPC Tampa Bay Junior Open

From August 24thand 25th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Doral Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Boys 16-18

TPC Tampa Bay Junior Open

Armand Loscalzo from Tampa, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Armand brought in scores of 71 and 75 for a combined total of 146 for the weekend. Brain Park from Gyeonngi-do, Republic of Korea was the runner up for the weekend with consistent scores of 74 for a combined total of 148. Michael Thomas from Lutz, FL finished the top three honors with scores of 74 and 75 for a weekend total of 149.

Boys 14-15

TPC Tampa Bay Junior Open

Ajay Patel from Tampa, FL was able to seal his victory by ending the weekend with scores of 82 and 79 for a combined total of 161. Nik Mikhail Furek-Abidin from Tampa, FL was the runner up with scores of 83 and 81 for a 164 weekend total. Rounding out our top three was Carter Dill from Tampa, FL who brought in scores of 90 and 84 for a combined total of 164.

Clipper Salmon from Tampa, FL was the first-place finisher this weekend. Salmon brought in scores of 70 and 76 with a combined score of 146. Ethan Keys from Wesley Chapel, FL was the second-place finisher with scores of 85 and 80 for a total of 165. To round out the top three was Amine El Omari from Wesley Chapel, FL. El Omari ended the weekend with scores of 100 and 90 for a total of 190.

Girls 14-18

TPC Tampa Bay Junior Open

Emily Odwin from St. James, Barbados was the top finisher with impressive scores of 72 and 68 for a 140 weekend finish. McKenzie Kane from Lutz, FL took home the runner up title with scores of 85 and 80 for a weekend total of 165. Andrea Woods from Riverview, FL rounded out the top three with scores of 83 and 85 a combined total of 168.

Girls U13

TPC Tampa Bay Junior Open

Adrianna Castillo from Tampa, FL was the top finisher for the Justin Rose division with scores of 75 and 78 a. Her combined total for the weekend was 153 strokes. Hayli Snaer from Venice, FL was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 78 and 77, a combined total of 155 strokes. Finishing out the top three was Chloe Chang from Sarasota, FL with a score of 156. Chang brought in scores of 79 and 77 from the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
