TPC Southwind Junior Open

On Monday, July 2 – Tuesday, July 3, 2018, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the TPC Southwind Junior Open in Memphis, Tennessee. The two-day, thirty-six-hole tournament held at The TPC Southwind course consisted of players from all six of our divisions including the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division, Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division, Boys U10 Division, Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division, and the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

TPC Southwind Junior Open

Ethan Ray of Collierville, Tennessee captured the victory in the Tiger Woods Boys 16-18 Division after finishing the thirty-six holes at +6. He led his playing field with the most birdies (7) and the lowest scoring average (75). As for second place, there was a tie between Scout Davis (Covington) and Lane Hooper (Greenbrier, TN) as they each made 155 strokes for a +11 finish.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

TPC Southwind Junior Open

In the Will Smith Boys 14-15 Division, it was Will Brown of Jackson, Tennessee who was victorious after shooting 164 strokes for a +20 finish. He led his playing field with the most birdies (4), the longest birdie or better streak (2), and the lowest scoring average (82). Second-place finisher was Jon Huber of St. Louis, Missouri who shot 170 strokes to be +26. Jaden Zimmer of Humboldt, Tennessee finished third as he shot 175 strokes through the thirty-six holes.

TPC Southwind Junior Open

Christian Pardue of Arlington captured the title in the Ernie Els Boys 11-13 Division after finishing the two-day tournament at +14. He led his playing field with the lowest scoring average (78). Kelly Zhu of Beijing placed second as he made 160 strokes for a +16 finish. Third-place finisher was Austin Bibb of Eads who completed the thirty-six holes at +17.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

TPC Southwind Junior Open

Ellie Navarre of Memphis, Tennessee captured the victory in the Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18 Division after finishing +34 through the thirty-six holes. She had a Par 3 average of 4 and led her playing field with the lowest scoring average at 89. Mallory Anderson of Ashland City, Tennessee placed second after her 179 strokes resulted in a +35 finish. Third-place finisher was Ella Cress of Olive Branch, Mississippi who shot 198 strokes for a +54 finish.

Justin Rose Girls U13

TPC Southwind Junior Open

Elle Webber of Huntsville, Alabama was victorious after thirty-six holes in the Justin Rose Girls U13 Division as she made 190 strokes for a +46 finish. She led her playing field with the most birdies (1), the lowest Par 3 average (3.6), and the lowest scoring average (95). This was Elle’s first tournament on tour with us this year and she is off to a great start.

Boys 10 Under

TPC Southwind Junior Open

In the Boys U10 Division, Carson Daniel of Bolivar, Tennessee walked home with the trophy as he finished the two-day tournament at +25. He led his playing field with the most birdies (2), the lowest Par 3 average (3.6), and the lowest scoring average (85). Second-place finisher was Jimmy Williams of Jackson who made 185 strokes for a +51 finish.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
