From Tuesday July 2nd through Wednesday July 3rd ,the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the TPC Southwind Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under and the Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

TPC Southwind Jr. Open

Ian Blome of Ofallon, MO took the first-round lead after scoring a 78 on Tuesday. Blome remained at the top of the leaderboard all week, with a final round of 76 and winning by a margin of four strokes. Lane Hooper of Greenbrier, TN finished in second place with rounds of 82 and 76 over the week for runner up honors. And rounding up our top-three Drew Taylor of Franklin, TN with a total of 162 strokes to claim solo third-place honors.

Will Smith Boys 14-15

TPC Southwind Jr. Open

John Wesley Lovelace of Kingsport, TN was able to seal his victory with rounds of 74 and 80 over the week, making 2birdies the last day to finish at a two-day total of 154 strokes. Braden Jones of West Memphis, AR  claimed runner-up honors with a total of 163 shots and a final round of 79. Rounding up the top three was Austin Bibb of Eads, TN with a total of 164 strokes and claim third-place honors.

Ernie Els 11-13

Christian Pardue of Arlington, TN was able to seal his victory with a final round of 70 and a total of 144 strokes. Pardue made 4 birdies the last day to win by an impressive margin over his closest competitor. Carson Daniel of Bolivar, TN  shot a weekend total of 162 shots and claimed runner-up honors. Rounding up our top-three was Ronald Osborne of Barbourville, KY with a total of 168 strokes and claim solo third-place honors.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Mandi Granato of Plainfield, IL claimed first-place honors with a weekend total of 151 shots. Granato was able to sea lher victory with weekend rounds of 75 and 76 to win by an impressive margin. Margaret Butts of Paducah, KY shot a total of 166 shots to claim solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top three was Libby Green of Shawnee, KS with a weekend total of 171 shots to claim third-place honors.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
