Tennessee Fall Challenge

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour stopped in Winchester, Tennessee for the Tennessee Fall Challenge on September 30 – October 1, hosted by Bear Trace Golf Course at Tims Ford. The Jack Nicklaus designed course provided beautiful conditions for the two-day event. The HJGT would like to thank the amazing staff members at Bear Trace for their hospitality and producing the wonderful playing conditions for our field.

Tiger Woods Boys 16-18

Tennessee Fall Challenge

Our Boys 16-18 Champion is Marshall Daniel. The Collierville, TN native was able to navigate the golf course and jump to an early lead that he held all the way through the event. Shooting an impressive 71 on day one and 73 on day two, he was able to hold off the competition and take home the first place trophy. In second place we have Jonathan Liggett of Tullahoma, TN. Liggett produced a 75 on Saturday and 70 (low round of tournament) on Sunday. His score of 145 was good enough for second place. Josh Floyd took home third place honors with a two-day score of 152(75-77).

Will Smith Boys 14-15

Tennessee Fall Challenge

Landon Wockenfuss of Alabaster, AL is our boys 14-15 Champion. Wockenfuss posted a total score of 148. He was able to rebound from his 77 on day one to produce a 71 on Sunday, which propelled him into the first place position. In Second place we have Riley Grant. The Rock Spring, GA native shot a 75 and 77 on Saturday and Sunday respectively, which was good enough for the second place trophy. The third place trophy belongs to Evan Reed of Shelbyville, TN. Reed shot 77 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday to give him a one stroke advantage against the competition.

Tennessee Fall Challenge

Will Jones is our boys 11-13 Champion. The Alpharetta, GA native posted an impressive two-day score of 151(77-74). Jones’ impressive set of skills allowed him to navigate around a challenging course and edge out the competition in a come from behind victory. Second place honors were split between two players in a thrilling showdown. Jack Taylor of Nashville, TN posted a two-day score of 156(84-72). Trent Trousdale of Huntsville, AL shared 2nd place with scores of 73 and 83.

Justin Timberlake Girls 14-18

Tennessee Fall Challenge

Our Girls 14-18 Champion is Sarah Utley of Hampton Cove, AL. Utley posted a two-day score of 150(73-77). In second place we have Sanika Kulkarni. The Alpharetta, GA native shot an 84 on Saturday and 80 on Sunday which placed her squarely into 2nd place. Rounding out the division, we have Destiny Hill in 3rd place. Hill posted a two-day score of 172(92-80). The ladies enjoyed their experience, which produced a great competition down the stretch.

Justin Rose Girls U13

Tennessee Fall Challenge

Madeline Simcox of Bristle, TN is the girls U13 Champion. Simcox produced an 86 on Saturday and 85 on Sunday which gave her the first place trophy. In second place we have Bella Warwick of Huntsville, AL. Warwick shot a two-day total of 194(96-98).

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
