From Saturday June 15th through Sunday June 16th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Tennessee Junior Open at Champions Run. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and the Justin Rose Division Girls 13 and Under.

Boys 16-18

Tennessee Jr. Open

Playing at Champions Run Golf Club, Tucker Christopher from Crossville, TN took the lead after scoring an 81 on Saturday. Christopher remained at the top of the leaderboard all weekend, finishing with a 79 and birdies on holes 2 and 4 to win by one shot. Jack Stafford of Crandall, GA finished in second place with a weekend total of 161 strokes, and 4 total birdies between both days. Rounding up our top-three was Trey Rouse of Homewood, AL who finished in third place with a weekend total of 162 shots.

Boys 14-15

Tennessee Jr. Open

Jack Leach of Jacksboro, TN claimed victory honors with a two-day total of 165 shots. Leach was able to seal his victory with rounds of 84 and 81 over the weekend, with a birdie on 16 the last day. Evan DeVine of Brownsboro, AL claimed runner-up honors with a total of 169 shots, just 4  shy of the winner for the division. Rounding up the top three were Hampton Coleman of Nashville, TN and William Cook of Nashville as well with a three-day total of 171 shots, to tie for third-place honors.

For our Ernie Els Division there was a three-way tie for first place honors. Cole Campbell of Ethridge, TN with Ethan Coffield of Hamilton, GA and Eli Brown of Murfreesboro, TN all having 155 strokes for the weekend.

Girls 14-18

Tennessee Jr. Open

Yue Xu of Green Township, NJ claimed victory honors with a 159 total for the weekend and a first-round lead of 76.Xu was able to seal her victory by a single shot over her closest competitor with an 83 on Sunday. Isabella Griggs of Nashville, TN and Karlie Campbell of Ethridge, TN had a two-way tie for runner-up honors. Both competitors finished with weekend totals of 160 shots.

Girls U13

Tennessee Jr. Open

Camryn Coffield of Hamilton, GA was our lone competitor for the weekend with a two-day total of 172 strokes. Coffield had a four-shot improvement the last day to claim victory honors with two total birdies for the weekend.

Zachary Barrett of Hendersonville, TN was our lone competitor for the division. Barrett finished with a two-day total of 185 strokes. Barret had a four-stoke improvement the last day, helping with finish the weekend on a good note and claim victory honors.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division.
