Tarheel State Kickoff at Lake Hickory

From February 5th-6th, 2022, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Tarheel State Kickoff at Lake Hickory. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Boys 16-18 Division, Boys 14-15 Division, Boys 11-13 Division, Boys Under 10 Division, Girls 14-18 Division, and Girls Under 13 Division.

Tarheel State Kickoff at Lake Hickory

Killian Donnelly from Palmyra, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Donnelly brought in scores of 78 and 77 for a combined total of 155 for the weekend. Brayden Niemiec from Canton, MI and Ian Willaims from Cary, NC tied for runner-up this weekend with scores of 84 and 78 and 81 and 81, respectively, for a combined total of 162 each.

Rusty Hooks from Forest, VA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Hooks brought in scores of 81 and 80 for a weekend total of 161. Jack Michael from Huntington, WV was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 87 and 82 for a combined total of 169. Aiden Clark from Davidson, NC finished top three honors with scores of 86 and 84 for a weekend total of 170.

Allison Land from Charlotte, NC was the first-place finisher this weekend. Land brought in scores of 95 and 102 for a combined total of 197 for the weekend. Landon Shoczolek from Charlotte, NC was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 113 and 105 for a combined total of 218.

Ally Turner from Miamisburg, OH was the first place finisher this weekend. Turner brought in scores of 90 and 86 for a combined total of 176 on the weekend. Danielle Stinson was the runner-up this weekend with scores of 98 and 99 for a combined total of 197. Keira Johnson from Black Mountain, NC finished top three honors with scores of 127 and 110 for a combined total of 237 for the weekend.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 14 years.

Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2021, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. Click here to view approximate yardages for each division. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2021.
