Summer College Prep Series at Penn State

From August 1-2, 2020, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Summer College Prep Series at Penn State. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of six divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys Under 10,  Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18, and Justin Rose Division Girls Under 13.

Scott Jordan from Pittsburgh, PA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Jordan brought in scores of 69 and 66 for a combined total of 135 for the weekend. John Keba from Emmaus, PA was the runner up for the weekend with scores of 71 and 72 for a combined total of 143. Ryan Ricci from Barrington, Ri, Luke Corcoran from Lansdale, PA, Tyson Mitchell from Lititz, PA, Zachary Locke from Horseheads, NY, Tyler Thomas from Corning, NY, and Matthew Vital from Bethlehem, PA all finished in the top three honors. Ricci finished with scores of 74 and 73 for a weekend total of 147. Corcoran finished with scores of 72 and 75 for a weekend total of 147. Mitchell finished with scores of 73 and 74 for a weekend total of 147.  Locke finished with scores of 76 and 71 for a weekend total of 147. Thomas finished with scores of 72 and 75 for a weekend total of 147. Vital finished with scores of 71 and 76 for a weekend total of 147.

Michael Vital from Bethlem, PA was the first-place finisher this weekend. Vital brought in scores of 74 and 76 for a combined total of 150 for the weekend. Trevor Snyder from Dover, PA and Cole Vieira from Barrington, RI were both runner ups for the weekend. Snyder finished with scores of 76 and 77 for a combined total of 153. Cole Vieira finished with scores of 82 and 71 for a weekend total of 153.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
