From Saturday August 3rd through Sunday August 4th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the Summer College Prep Series at Penn State. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of five divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Ernie Els Division Boys 11-13, Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18 and Justin Rose Girl 13 and Under division.
Seth Conway of Elmira, NY was able to take home first place honors after rounds of 68 and 69. Conway had a total of 137 strokes for the weekend to win by a three-shot margin over his closest competitor. Justin Hand of Elwood City, PA had rounds of 72 and 68 to finish at a total of 140 strokes and claim solo runner-up honors. Rounding up the top-three was Palmer Cuny of Pittsburgh, PA with a weekend total of 141 strokes to claim third-place honors.
Zachary Locke of Hoseheads, NY was able to seal his victory with rounds of 73 and 77, making a birdie on Sunday to finish at a two-day total of 150 strokes. John Keba of Emmaus, PA claimed runner-up honors with a total of 151 shots for the weekend and a first round 74. Rounding up the top three was Run Ni of Orlando, FL with a weekend total of 152 strokes for third place honors.
Nicholas Turowski of Harrison City, PA was able to seal his victory with a final round of 74 and a total of 148 strokes. Turowski made 2 birdies and an eagle the last day to win by an five shot margin over his closest competitor. David Fuhrer of Pitssburgh, PA shot a total of 153 strokes with consistent weekend rounds to claim solo runner-up honors for the division. Rounding up the top three was Harrison Martineau of Indiana, PA with a weekend total of 157 strokes to round up the division.
Adena Rugola of Uniontown, PA claimed first place honors after shooting rounds of 75 and 72 to win by a four-shot margin over her closest competitor. Rugola shot a total of 151 strokes and made 6 birdies over the weekend to win. Kayla Maletto of Sinking Springs, PA and Ava O’Sullivan of Exton, PA had a weekend totals of 151 shots to claim tie runner-up honors and round up the top-three.
Lihini Ranaweera of Cranberry Twp, PA claimed first place honors after shooting rounds of 78 consecutively to win by an impressive margin over her closest competitor. Ranaweera had a weekend total of 156 strokes with a birdie the last day to win. Taylor Sieg of Summit, NJ had a total of 163 strokes to claim solo runner-up honors for the week and a first round 79.
