From August 10th and 11th, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held the St. Louis Summer Junior Open. The tournament was made up of a 36-hole format with a field of four divisions that included the Tiger Woods Division Boys 16-18, Will Smith Division Boys 14-15, Bryson DeChambeau Division Boys 10 and Under, and Justin Timberlake Division Girls 14-18.
Will Ireland from Webster Groves, MO took home the victory after scoring an outstanding 71 and 75 for a combined 146 and winning the playoff hole between him and Zach Unnerstall. Zach Unnerstall from Washington, MO took home runner up honors after scoring a 74 and 72 for a combined 146 total. And Eric Klutke from Crystal Lake, IL ended the weekend with consistent scores of 74 for a total of 148 strokes to take home third place.
Nate Spear from Burlington, IA was able to seal his first-place finish with scores of 70 and 84 totaling 154 strokes. Spear was also able to land an eagle on day two! Andrew Fallis from Columbia, MO took home runner up honors with scores of 81 and 77 for a total of 158 strokes. Archer Schnieders rounded out our top three with scores of 82 and 81 for a total of 163.
Lindsey Byer from St. Louis, MO was able to clinch the first-place honors with scores of 78 and 80 for a total of 158 strokes. Runner up, Libby Green from Shawnee, KS brought in scores of 86 and 79 for a grand total of 165 for the weekend. Rounding out our top three was Gabby Hammond from Naperville, IL with scores of 89 and 85 totaling 174 strokes.
Boys 10 Under
Lyoto Bellon from St. Louis, MOwas able to seal his victory with rounds of 82 and 77, to finish at a two-day total of 159 strokes.
