On Saturday, October 28, 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to St. Louis, MO to host the St. Louis Fall Challenge at the beautiful Aberdeen Golf Club. The players battled through a cold and windy Saturday to find sun and lower scores on Sunday. Even with a minor frost delay Sunday, nothing could stop us from having a great weekend!
Boys 16-18

Thomas Henson of Hermann, MO is the boys 16-18 champion. Henson solidified the victory in his division with a par on the 2nd playoff hole. Michael Bugyis of Des Peres, MO and Henson both carded a 78 and 74 during their two rounds. Bugyis finished 2nd but not before giving Henson a run for his money. 3rd place went to David Meindl of Lake St. Louis, MO who shot 76 and 77. The players had a great time competing against some of the best junior golfers in the country.
Boys 14-15

Jack Dumas of Le Claire, IA is the champion of the boys 14-15 division. Dumas shot a tough 79 on Saturday and an unbelievable 71 on Sunday. Braden Hoisington of Dardenne Prairie, MO came in 2nd after finishing with a two-day total of 155 (81-74). Sean Minor of Columbia, MO was the 3rd place finisher after a two-day total of 157 (80-77). This division had great competition and each player can walk away proud of their effort.
Boys 11-13

Alex Koenig is the boys 11-13 champion. After a 78 Saturday, Koenig closed strong with a final round of 77 to secure the victory finishing with a two-day total of 155. Trip Sanfelippo of Wildwood, MO came in 2nd with two-day total of 165. The boys had a fun time navigating through the course and showed maturity beyond their years in handling its many challenges.
Girls 14-18

Taylor Hakala of Milton, WI is the girls 14-18 champion. Hakala had a 81 Saturday and followed that with a strong 77 on Sunday for a two-day total of 158. Finishing in 2nd from Lake St. Louis was Grace Aromando who posted rounds of 79 and 82 to finish with a total of 161. Parker Perry finished in 3rd place with a two-day total of 162 (85-77). The ladies each enjoyed their experience, with some intense competition down the stretch.
Girls U13

Ella Overstreet is the girls 13 and under champion. Overstreet of Jackson, MO emerged victorious after posting a two-day total of 171 (85-83). Finishing 2nd with a two-day total of 197 was Ellie Johnson of Des Peres, MO. The girls displayed tremendous fortitude while trekking through the difficult course layout.
Boys 10 Under

Ian Lambert took home the 1st place trophy for the boys 10U division. Lambert was the lone 10 year old in the field but shot a consistent 85-85. He battled with the 11-13 year olds this weekend, keeping them on their toes.

In 2017, The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2016, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
